CONS

The locking clip is awkward.

OUR VERDICT

People who would like to reduce both the time and the effort that is required to inflate car tyres will find the Heyner Premium Double Barrel Foot Air Pump quite appealing. Moreover, the storage bag will let you transport this pump with comfort and without damaging its housing.

Reducing the Time and Effort Required

The Heyner Premium Double Barrel Foot Air Pump is the biggest, most capable pump on this list and among the biggest models on the market right now. With its two barrels, the unit's output becomes quite considerable, allowing you to reach as much as 10 bars (140 PSI) whilst spending less time inflating car tyres.

The differences between premium models like this one and its shoddy peers are numerous. To name one, this pump does not leak air. To name two, the secure nozzle makes sure that the air is not escaping the tyre when removed, something that you cannot say about cheap models, meaning that you're not forced to pull the pump off as quick as you can to avoid leakage.

With this pump, the pressure gauge features large and informative markings, letting you figure out the pressure without leaning against the screen. Also, the gauge is very accurate, so you can easily achieve and secure the required pressure.

On the negative side, the locking clip is pretty awkward, something that you do not expect from high-end pumps. Even taking the awkward clip into account though, the Heyner Premium Double Barrel Foot Air Pump is easy to recommend, provided that you want to reduce the time and effort required to pump tyres.

Multi-Valve Connector Too

The Heyner Premium Pedalpower Pro Foot Air Pump is more nimble than its relative that we have reviewed above yet basically as robust and efficient. The model's heavy-duty, high-capacity cylinder will be working alongside the quick-release valve connector, allowing you to get the job done quickly and easily. Its thick frame will let the pump survive everyday use, travelling, and occasional hits, whereas the anti-slip feet, housing generous padding, will eliminate wobbling as you pump. In the meantime, the non-slip foot pedal will allow you to pump as hard as you can without worrying about the foot slipping.

Still, despite the "quick-release" part, some might find the connector to be difficult to remove from the tyre valve from time to time. On the upside, there's nothing difficult about the three adapters that are shipped with this product. Using these adapters, you'll be able to inflate balls, different inflatable toys, mattresses, and more. Topping it all off, the new multi-valve connector will let you inflate not only car tyres but also motorcycle and bicycle tyres.

In short, the Heyner Premium Pedalpower Pro Foot Air Pump starts off strong and continues to deliver with time. With this pump, you can forget about deflated tyres.

The Pump Matching the Drapes

The Draper 25996 is consistent across the board. The all-metal design, featuring the thick, 4-millimetre steel base, makes its construction robust and resilient. Even when dropped, the frame will not be bending and deforming. To add more, there's also the powder-coated finish that allows the pump to maintain its presentable appearance and protects the surface from corrosion.

When you start pumping, the two massive barrels start going to town on the tyre, inflating them (somewhere between 2 and 2.5 bars) within 5-7 minutes. As you can imagine, you'll be doing that through the delivery hose, braided to minimise tangling, tearing, twisting, and ageing. Plus, the lock-on mechanism will keep the connection secure, and the three accessory nozzles that come with the package will let you inflate balls, mattresses, various inflatable items, etc.

From the convenience angle, the model's pressure dial features both bar (from 0 to 7) and PSI (from 0 to 100) markings. From the inconvenience angle, the foot has been designed without a non-slip pad, so we would recommend exercising reasonable caution when using the pump.

To summarise, the Draper 25996 will be able to accommodate applications where high air volume and/or fast pumping action is more of a necessity than a preference.

Pumping the Extra Mile

We can always appreciate cars that go the extra mile (both literally and figuratively speaking), but what about car foot pumps? In general, as long as these things work, we don't think twice about what they might also be doing. But things are a little different with the Audew DSFA28. Besides doing its job, this device delivers multiple useful features/components that improve the overall experience.

For starters, the antifreeze and pressure-resistant hose will let you pump without worrying about the temperature or the hose bursting on you. In the same spirit, the pressure gauge that delivers 10 bars/160 PSI will be doing more work than its less capable peers when you step the pump, letting you inflate tyres in less time than you normally would.

The jury is still out on the valve attachment though. A little fiddly, the attachment's not easy to fix to the tyre valve. What's not fiddly, however, is the three-in-one inflatable nozzle that will let you pump not just car tyres but also bike tyres, air mattresses, sports balls, and other inflatables. Throw the model's foldable design into the mix and there's very little chance you will regret purchasing the Audew DSFA28. Offering quick inflation, large and accurate gauge, and a convenient design, this is the car foot pump you don't want to miss.

Sticking with What's Working

The Alca A202000 is pretty generic, which is not a bad thing as far as car foot pumps are concerned. On this front, the wheel has been invented a hot minute ago, so there's nothing wrong with this model sticking with what's working.

There's nothing wrong with the hard-wearing double-barrel cylinders that this device incorporates. Made from high-tensile steel, these barrels will not start rusting away or displaying corrosion signs anytime soon. The 0.6-metre hose on the pump will also not disappoint down the road, letting you switch positions without feeling like you're too tied to the tyre/inflatable.

What might disappoint is the instructions that are supplied with this foot pump. Of course, these pumps are no spaceships, so you should be able to figure things out pretty easily, but the lacklustre instructions could still use some improvement.

The anti-slip rubber feet are fine as they are though. Grippy, these feet guarantee stability, making sure that you can pump without worrying that your foot might slip. That, along with the precise pressure gauge and the 4 special adapters that will allow you to pump different inflatables, is what makes the Alca A202000 worth the modest sum the company asks for this product.

What Is a Car Foot Pump?

The thing with tyres is that they will deflate, even when you're doing everything you can to prevent that. Sometimes, they will even deflate where you cannot receive any professional assistance, presenting considerable issues. Using these car foot pumps, you can inflate most tyres within ~5 minutes. Normally, these implements measure around 30 x 10 x 10 centimetres when we're talking about single-barrel models and around 30 x 15 x 10 centimetres when we're discussing double-barrel pumps, so you can always bring one with you without sacrificing that much boot space.

Incorporating pressure gauges, these pumps will tell you the pressure inside the tyre (or any inflatable item you have connected the unit to), even when the pressure reaches ~ 100 PSI. The best models might include accessory nozzles, allowing you to inflate bicycle tyres, motorcycles tyres, air mattresses, inflatable tents, toys, (basket)balls, the list goes on and on. They might also add a non-slip coating to the foot pedal and non-skid feet to the base to prevent the unit from wobbling and the foot from slipping whilst using the pump.
