Your Family Drill Doctor
Drill Doctor DD500X isn't cheap but we can definitely get behind the not-so-modest price considering what the model offers in return. This little instrument is able to sharpen high-speed steel, masonry, carbide, and tin-coated bits. It has no issues with standard twist bits ranging from 3/32-inch to 1/2-inch (3 - 13 mm). It is able to create split points as well as the next machine.
As you sharpen different bits, the model's long jaws hold these bits precisely in place, while the jaw guides work wonders eliminating jaw twisting on small bits.
An alignment system this secure means that you will have no problems maintaining accurate bit geometry without damaging your tools' integrity of your tools.
When the sharpening job gets done, you can add unique back-cut spilt-point touches that give your bits an extra-narrow chisel point, improving their penetration and making sure these bits don't wander on the material you are drilling into.
Other than that, the machine is armed a metal split-point port and a die-cast point angle shuttle, making its construction as durable as it is practical. The model's permanent-magnet motor is able to produce consistent power regardless of speed or load.
Bottom line, Drill Doctor DD500X is as professional as these machines come. The pre-installed 180-grit diamond sharpening wheel will last for years to come. You'll be able to sharpen any and all drill bits. The model's equally suitable for professional tradesmen and serious hobbyists.
High-Speed Sharpening
Sealey SMS2008 is an adorable name. It's not that suitable for a machine like this though.
What we're dealing with here is a powerful and effective sharpener that is able to deliver up to 4200 RPM no-load speed. Spinning the sharpening wheel this fast makes it possible for the machine to sharpen your drill bits as quickly and efficiently as possible. At the same time, the built-in fuse keeps the engine safe and protected against power outages and other potential hazards.
The model's pretty versatile too. You'll be able to work with HSS titanium, cobalt, and carbon steel bits. In fact, you'll be able to work with just about any drill bit ranging from 3 to 13 millimetres (3/32 to 1/2 inches).
The only major gripe we have with the machine is that its somewhat impractical setting port can make it difficult to recreate the correct geometry on the tip at times. We're not saying that the sharpener is impractical in general, just that it can take some time to get used to.
Other than that, there isn't much to add here. We really like this drill bit sharpener. The rubber feet keep the machine stable and secure. It is able to give a perfect angle/sharpened head to make drilling with your bits that much easier. The model will let you re-use the same bits over and over again.
Sharpen Anything
Allied UK Delta_HTR is the most versatile machine on the list. Just like every other sharpener here, the model is able to work with any drill bit ranging from 3 to 13 millimetres (3/32 to 1/2 inches). At the same time, this machine will sharpen straight-edged knives scissors, plane irons, and many other blades between 6 and 51 millimetres.
The sharpener will have no issues re-grinding chisels and plane blades up to 50-millimetre wide. You can adjust its bevel between 15 and 50 degrees, meaning you should be able to work with/access just about any sharp tool in your toolbox.
On the construction subject, this product seems and feels pretty tough. Plus, there are slots on the bottom that you can use to mount the machine to just about any workbench. This way, you'll be able to reduce vibrations and make this sharpener much more practical since you won't have to support its frame with your second hand.
As far as the model's downsides are concerned, the biggest issue is that the grinding wheel gets dull relatively quickly. You can always replace it though.
To sum it all up, Allied UK Delta_HTR will let you sharpen pretty much anything that requires sharpening. There aren't too many DIYers that wouldn't benefit from a machine like that. We would, however, recommend this model to small-time joiners and woodworkers first and foremost.

You can always bring this little machine with you on the job. It doesn't take up too much space on your workbench, meaning that the sharpener is always ready for work. You'll have no issues manoeuvring this machine around/through the smallest benches.
Apart from that, there isn't much to add here. The model is a little less versatile than its predecessors on this list. It will let you sharpen drill bits between 3 and 10 millimetres (8/64 - 25/64 inches). You'll be able to work with carbon steel and high-speed steel drill bits. The built-in drill guide will make sure you're maintaining the right sharpening angle, creating the perfect cutting edge time after time.
Its plastic construction is surprisingly sturdy. There's practically no chance it will bend/deform with time. At the same time, the model could use some improvement in the heat dissipation department. As it is right now, the engine heats up too much without regular breaks.

Small-Time Machine
Silverline 312279 is pretty good compared to your average prospect within its price bracket but the machine doesn't stack up too well against every other product on this list. We're not saying that the model is bad though.
It is able to deliver 1350 RPM no-load speed drawing just 90 watts, meaning there isn't much to complain as far as energy-efficiency is concerned.
You'll have no issues with drill bits ranging from 3 to 10 millimetres (8/64 to 25/64 inches). The model handles carbon and HSS steel bits as well as the next sharpener.
The pre-installed diamond sharpening wheel is pretty durable and should be able to restore hundreds of drill bits before getting too dull. The built-in drill guide will ensure the correct angle to keep your drill bits' cutting edge perfectly sharp.
On the less bright side, the model is a tad too loud for our taste. It's not necessarily deafening. You won't need earbuds. But the engine is a little too loud considering that it is not that powerful in the first place. The relatively low maximum RPM means it will take some time to sharpen larger drill bits.
In other words, Silverline 312279 is alright for beginners. The model is as easy to use as the next drill bit sharpener. Provided you give adequate pressure to the tip and rotate that back and forth, your drill bits will come out nice and sharp. The 90W motor doesn't struggle at all.
