CarPlan Ecl005 is probably the best engine degreaser on the list. At the very least, it is definitely the most versatile product here.

Advertised as general-purpose solvent-based degreasing cleaner, the solution is suitable for various automotive, commercial, industrial, household, and/or marine applications. The product can be applied directly to remove ingrained grease, dirt, grime, or oil. The formula works wonders with steel, metal, and aluminium surfaces.

It is an ace degreaser for bikes. You can use the solution in a chain cleaning machine for a spotless drivetrain along with a smokers' toothbrush for the sprockets, chainrings, etc.

Just keep in mind that the formula is far from eco-friendly. In fact, it is very much flammable and toxic formula, incorporating Alcohol Ethoxylate, Cyclicamine, and distilled hydrotreated light. The chemicals inside that formula can cause skin/eye irritation, so we highly recommend arming yourself with gloves and a mask.

Other than that, the product doesn't appear cheap at first. But considering that the can is packing 5 litres, it is definitely not expensive either.

In short, CarPlan Ecl005 is the most versatile product on the list. It is probably the best engine degreaser too (the solution is certainly up there). The massive 5-litre can should last you for years to come.

Autoglym AG 090017 is likely the most practical product in this lineup. The small bottle is easy to store and maintain. The spray gun is convenient and efficient. The cap is tight and secure but not too tight.

The only issue we have with the product from the practicality standpoint is that it isn't always as easy to remove as advertised. The people behind the degreaser claim that you'll have to do nothing but spray on, brush, and hose the solution off. However, from time to time, that "hose off" part will not suffice.

Apart from that, we've no major problems with the product. It is a powerful, water-based, bio-degradable engine and machine cleaner that works wonders rapidly dissolving oil, grease, and accumulated grime from engines, components, tools, and machinery.

Its application range is definitely not short. The product is able to clean anodised, non-original, and/or specially plated wheel finishes. You should have no issues with plastic or rubber components, including surrounding paintwork.

All things considered, Autoglym AG 090017 is an excellent overall product. The solvent-free formula is eco-friendly and more than suitable for residential use. It will be able to make scratches far less visible too.

Gunk 733 is a silly name. But the product is anything but silly. The flammable, toxic formula is powerful and effective.

All engines, from motor vehicles to boats and even lawnmowers, are affected by grease, grime, oil, and dirt deposits. These relatively small but significant elements can (and usually do) build up to affect your engine's performance in the long run.

Maddox Detail 40101 is another product that is as effective as it is practical. The bottle incorporates these lovely little notches that provide a comfortable but firm grip. The spray gun isn't too sensitive but not too tight either.

As far as we're concerned, the bottle's only weak link is its volume. Half a litre isn't nothing but you'll probably have to purchase new bottles more often than you'd like. Other than that, there's nothing to complain about here.

The product's exclusive formula excels at dissolving the grease and dirt that is difficult to remove from the engine. It is suitable for all engine vehicles. It isn't just about engines too.

Provided the dirt/grease/grime/oil residue isn't too tough, you can safely mix the dissolvent with water (1:1 proportion), making sure the product lasts even longer than, frankly, necessary. You don't have to dilute the solution but you can do that.

The product's application range leaves very little to be desired. You'll have no issues with plastic, rubber, and aluminium surfaces. The solution will let you clean and degrease engines, different machinery, wheels, tires, and various tools. It eats up rust for breakfast and corrosion for dinner. As you would imagine, the massive 5-litre canister isn't too practical. The handle is alright, grippy and comfortable enough. But the canister's plastic transparent composition means it has to be stored in low-light environments. Otherwise, light exposure will likely ruin the solution.

In other words, provided you don't care too much for practicality, Gunk 6868 Ultra Engine Degreaser will likely fit your bill. The solution will not affect the paintwork. Your chain and cogs will look like new.
