The breathable fabric will be dissipating moisture and excess heat. The media pocket will hold the ski pass and let you quickly hop onto the chairlifts without searching the pockets. The security pockets will keep valuable items safe yet easily accessible.
There are no mesh panels under the arms.
Columbia Alpine Action is more lightweight than most ski and snowboard jackets but just as technically impressive. All the necessary pockets are there and the Omni-Heat™ Reflective Microtex Light will make sure you remain warm without making the jacket heavy and stuffy.

R RUNVEL Waterproof Fleece Jacket will make sure that winter stands no chance. The high-stand collar and the adjustable hood will prevent the snow from getting inside from above. Also, the fabric is tear-resistant, so you do not have to worry about ripping the jacket apart when falling.

The zippers are relatively flimsy.
Looking to hit the slopes but do not want to spend too much on snowboard/ski gear? Wantdo Men's Anorak Ski Jacket is exactly what you need. Also, the jacket looks less techy than most snowboard anoraks, so you can wear this model outside anywhere without looking odd and out of place.

The membrane will be able to resist the cold up to -30 degrees Celcius. The snow will prevent the snow from entering even as you tumble, making sure that you remain dry down there. The sizes go from XXS to XXXXL, so there are no customers that won't be able to select a fitting jacket.
The jacket is pretty heavy.
Mountain Warehouse Dusk Mens Ski Jacket keeps the price low but ensures that you're never at a disadvantage up there on the slopes. The drawcord-adjustable hem enables customized fit, letting the jacket hug you nice and tight but not too tight.

Spyder Leader puts most ski jackets to shame but the price reflects the product ambitions and high-end disposition. Everything is extra here, from extra-strong zippers to seams and targeted interior stretch panels.

All the Pockets
Columbia Alpine Action delivers on all fronts, protecting you from the elements and retaining the body heat, all whilst making sure the jacket remains breathable. Incorporating these little silver dots, the Omni-Heat™ Reflective Microtex Light tech reflects and retains the warmth that the body generates. Moreover, the breathable fabric is able to dissipate moisture and excess heat.
Needless to say, the jacket is windproof and waterproof, the price bracket demands that. The same bracket also demands certain extra features, features that are ample here, including goggle pockets and security pockets hidden inside. Unlike snowboard jackets, ski jackets do not always come equipped with media pockets, but we cannot say the same about this jacket. The media pocket has been put onto the left arm above the wrist, so you can put ski passes there and quickly access the lifts without removing the pass.
Somewhat upsetting is the fact that the jacket comes without mesh panels under the armpits, which is odd considering that these are basically obligatory nowadays.
Besides that though, Columbia Alpine Action will make sure you won't have to hold back, pushing past your limits and hitting the hardest slopes with comfort and ease.
Performance Shell
R RUNVEL Waterproof Fleece Jacket looks brilliant, even though the two available colours (olive green and black) will not aid visibility on the slopes. On the bright side, the performance shell will be keeping you nice and warm, preventing the droplets from soaking through the surface and making sure you remain dry during rainy days.
There are no bells and whistles here, only the essentials. The fleece lining will be working with the performance shell to retain body heat. In the meantime, the drawcord-adjustable hem will be able to ensure the face area stays warm too, even when you're going 100 kilometres per hour down the slopes. Aside from the two standard side pockets with robust zippers, the jacket adopts two inner pockets with enough storage space to hold wallets, keys, phones, and more.
The cuffs here are adjustable, so you do not have to worry about cold winds penetrating the jacket. Also, going back to the pockets, the chest pocket is massive, enough to accommodate ski goggles and such.
Unfortunately, the snap skirt is not present, meaning you might get some snow inside the pants if you fall too often. Even taking that into account though, this black jacket is versatile and dependable, so you can take this jacket skiing, hiking, camping, and more.

Relaxed Fit with Excellent Resistance
Wantdo Men's Anorak Ski Jacket will be able to resist all elements, maintaining high comfort levels and safeguarding you against cold winds, frigid temperatures, and hard-hitting storms.
Loaded with DWR polymers and transparent PU film, the jacket provides 10000mm water resistance. The same film and the anorak's high-density fabric allow the product to reach the windbreak effect, keeping you warm and comfy even when the winds get tough. Plus, the elastic cuffs come equipped with stretchable thumb holes, keeping the snow and cold from entering the sleeves. The same technologies even make the jacket stain-repellent, which is pretty neat since, otherwise, you need special detergents to wash snowboard gear with wind- and water-resistant membranes.
While all these solutions are working their magic, the three-structured cutting and fuzzy lining will provide enough warmth without making the jacket heavy and restraining movements. Otherwise, from the design standpoint, this model is not that different from what we've reviewed here, except that the zippers are pretty fragile, so we would recommend avoiding excessive and unnecessary zipping/unzipping.
In closing, Wantdo Men's Anorak Ski Jacket excels at keeping you comfortable and manoeuvrable yet protected from the elements.
Keeping the Comfort Levels High
Mountain Warehouse Dusk Mens Ski Jackets are affordable and really good at making sure you're able to shred the slopes without worrying about the weather conditions, bringing a backpack, and things like that.
The membrane here has been temperature-tested to -30 degrees Celcius. In other words, provided you layer up and keep moving, this jacket will keep you warm no matter the temperature. The membrane is pretty thin, but we cannot extend the same sentiment towards the fleece lining, making the jacket relatively heavy.
On the upside, the fabrics (primarily polyester) have been woven tight, making the gaps between the threads too small for the wind to pass at speed. Meanwhile, the snow skirt (also known as the snap skirt) will be preventing the snow from getting inside the jacket even when you tumble, keeping you dry and warm down there. Last but not least, this long jacket comes featuring sizable zipper pockets inside and outside, providing you with enough space to stash the belongings when you're out and about/on the slopes.
Again, Mountain Warehouse Dusk Mens Ski Jackets keeps the price low and the comfort levels high, offering that perfect balance between warmth and breathability. It also does not hurt that the available sizes range from XXS to XXXXL.
The Premium Treatment
Spyder Leader is not cheap, the company's products were always anything but cheap. That's the price you pay for high-end snowboarding gear though.
What drives the price (and the jacket's value) before anything else is the Gore-Tex™ fabric that's the industry front-runner at keeping snowboard anoraks windproof and waterproof. Aside from the Gore-Tex™ laminate, the jacket adopts 2-litre plain weave, bringing water resistance to 15000mm.
The YKK® AquaGuard® zippers throughout the jacket complete the water-resistant package, protecting the sleeve pocket, chest pocket, side pockets, and internal pockets from snow and rain. Even the under-arm vents come equipped with these zippers too, so you can unzip them to promote airflow when the weather gets less cold.
There are many small details here contributing to the jacket's value but the 3M Thinsulate insulation is anything but small. This thing is toasty and more than capable of keeping you warm yet not constricted. From the cuff tabs that come equipped with thumb holes to mesh goggle pockets, the people behind this model haven't forgotten anything important. As long as you don't mind spending extra (and we mean extra-extra), this jacket will not disappoint.
What Is a Ski Jacket for Men?
Hitting the slopes is the best way to spend the coldest season, much better than staying in the city and much more fun and exciting than sunbathing somewhere nice and warm. The issue here is that snowboard and ski gear usually costs a fortune, which is why we've gathered and reviewed these five ski jackets.
The jacket is easily the most important part (except for the snowboard and skis but you can always rent those), hence the part you should invest into first. With the right jacket, you'll be able to ski/snowboard with comfort, confidence, and nimbleness. These jackets ought to be lightweight yet windproof, waterproof, and good at retaining body heat at the same time.
Other than that, ski jackets should be equipped with enough pockets to stash different belongings, from ski passes and snacks to wallets, phones, and more. Add to that various solutions like snow skirts, adjustable cuffs, and drawcord-adjustable hems and you'll be able to separate good jackets from middling ones.
Setting jackets aside, we cannot emphasise the importance of ski helmets, so we would suggest looking into them too.
