Pretty Appealing Device
The Asus T102HA looks like a pretty appealing device. This model features a rather modern design and comes with a kickstand on its backside, which makes it easy to set the tablet up for the angle that you need. Unlocking the tablet is pretty straightforward thanks to the fingerprint reader on its rear side. There are a lot of connective ports in this device, such as micro-USB, full-sized USB 3.0, micro-HDMI and 3.5mm headphone jack. So the connectivity variants are quite good for such a small tablet. If you think that 128 GB storage will not be enough, there's no need to worry since you can expand it with a microSD card. Also, the magnetic keyboard attaches to the bottom of the tablet.
The T102HA is supplied with a bright 10.1-inch, 1200 x 800 touchscreen display. If you are fond of watching movies in HD, this tablet is the right choice for you. The screen covers 92.8 percent of the sRGB colour gamma, which makes it more colourful compared to the majority of their competition. The Asus T102HA features up to 372 nits of brightness, which is more than one might expect from this type of device.
Advanced Features
This device is supplied with a keyboard and a touchpad, which is convenient for work, especially when you need to type something. The keyboard isn’t as great as a laptop or PC one, but it’s pretty good by convertible standards. The keys are located very close to each other so you'll need some time to get used to this keyboard. The touchpad has a tiny 3.4 x 1.7-inch surface and it will take some time to get used to it too. The cursor will intermittently jump the first time you use it. The Asus T102HA comes bundled with a stylus called an Asus Pen. The aluminum stylus is about the same size as an ordinary pen, albeit a bit heavier. It has two buttons: one for an eraser and one to serve as a right click. This stylus offers 1,024 points of pressure sensitivity.
On top of that, you're in for quite a surprise when you're going to use the tablet's speakers for the first time. The sound is exceptionally clear and loud. But if you are a real music fan, you can customise EQ according to your tastes with ICEpower AudioWizard. There are very good specs for Windows tablet with keyboard.
The T102HA battery life is also quite good. You can use it at your desk or on the go and it still lasts long enough to go all day without the need to recharge it.
In Conclusion
The ASUS T102HA-GR036T is a worthy acquisition thanks to its competitive bright and colourful display and long battery life. On top of that, a comfortable stylus is a nice little bonus. However, the performance is not necessarily good enough to play games or use it instead of a PC and the keyboard it comes bundled with is not particularly convenient.

Competitive and Efficient
Lately, tablets have started to become the most dynamic emerging trend in the high-tech industry. Initially, all of the mentions of tablets were associated with iPad, but now the Apple's part in the device's market isn't as significant as it used to be. Android competitors are closing in because of the cheaper price on one hand and on the other one Windows tablets often offer a significantly improved performance. And Microsoft Surface is the outstanding representative of the Windows tablets family.
This device is running on Windows RT but supports Windows 8 as well. Microsoft Surface has a ClearType HD touchscreen 1366 x 768 resolution display with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Integrated kickstand grants you an additional support and flexibility, so you can use it for hands-free entertainment. The housing of this tablet consists mainly of magnesium alloy, which makes it sturdy and lightweight. Touch Cover can be wrapped on the rear side of the housing and it stops its work which is a good and intelligent solution for preventing accidental pressing.
Office Oriented
The Microsoft Surface 9JR-00027 is a good alternative to a laptop, with a kickstand, keyboard, office, and without any loss in the mobility department. But the main difference between this device and laptop is the operating time, meaning you can work much longer without charging. But there are some weak sides to this tablet and that would be mainly productivity and communications. This tablet is cheaper than most flagship models but loses to them in terms of performance and there are no LTE or 3G (just Wi-Fi and Bluetooth).
Supplied with Windows RT software, this tablet has a full grade office, which serves as a great advantage compared to the competition. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote make the tablet a real working tool. Multitasking is the other tablet's distinctive feature. You can play the flash player on a web page and open some applications for the other tasks. Which is impossible to do on iOS and Android devices. But incompatibility of Windows Phone and Windows RT is the weak side of this device. But still, it remains a multipurpose Windows tablet with keyboard.
The Bottom Line
The Microsoft's Surface is a multitasking device specifically interesting for those who need Office in their life and work. Kickstand and Touch Cover present significant advantages, but there are some weak sides. The software is not ready for the newest programs, so there is a lack of applications for Windows RT and tablet's performance leaves a bit to be desired as well. But considering all the specs we can say for sure - this tablet is a pretty decent model that you can get for more than affordable price.

Double OS
This new CHUWI Hi10 is a very interesting tablet that comes with two operating systems. It's a rare gadget, meaning you will be hard-pressed to find a lot of people that own this device and it rarely stands at the front rows in the stores. Nevertheless, the demand for these types of devices keeps on increasing and tablets that feature Windows and Android in one package are starting to become more and more popular.
Chuwi tablet runs on Windows 10 and Remix OS. Almost all Chuwi devices look alike and the devil is in the details. This tablet is lightweight, but the weight increases up to two times once you plug in the keyboard. The housing is made of aluminium but the front side and the display are made of glass. It will be hard to use this device as a tablet because of it's weight and you'll want to put it on the table as soon as you take it in your hands. The keyboard is deprived of an additional digits block, but it's normal for this kind of device. Reduced size of Enter, Shift, and Backspace keys will not cause a big problem and you'll get used to it very soon making this keyboard at the very least not worse than the average tablet's one.
Display, Sound, and Other Features
The screen of the tablet Chuwi Hi10 is based on an IPS matrix with a diagonal of 10.1 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. This model has an air gap between the glass and the matrix, which is difficult to call a shortcoming: with a screen of this size, the interlayer can help to avoid screen's damage if the device falls, which will save you a lot of money on expensive repairs. The claimed peak brightness is 350 nits. 1920x1200 pixels resolution is the standard for a tablet with this diagonal of screen. Screen brightness is suitable for home or office work but it will not be enough for working in the bright sunlight environment. Also, this device supports a brand stylus. It's not perfect and sometimes misses small interface elements but overall it delivers a sufficient performance.
There are two built-in speakers but the quality of sound leaves a lot to be desired. You can always use headphones, however, it'll not replace the lack of quality speakers' sound.
Cameras are the real weakness of this tablet. Both front-facing and rear-facing cameras can only be good for video conferencing. Making a decent photo will prove to be quite a challenge.
Pros and Cons
The CHUWI Hi10 is a tablet with nice specs and a quality screen. The manufacturer decided to change Android to Remix OS and we can safely say it's a good call since Remix OS is a better choice when it comes to operating a tablet with a keyboard or a mouse.
But this device is not perfect and a weak camera is not the only flaw. The CPU frequency tends to fall down when Windows is highly loaded and the speakers definitely could have been a bit better.

Comfortable Watching
The Fusion5 is manufactured with an IPS 10-inch display. The panel technology enables a high contrast and a large gamut that allow for a comfortable watching of videos on the device even in the sunlight. A good watching experience is provided not least due to its wide viewing angles so you will not see a picture degradation when looking at the Fusion5 display even at angles close to 170 degrees. As for the Internet access, the FWIN232 Windows tablet offers a simple and fast connection via the Wi-Fi module providing no mobile Internet connectivity, though. With the support of Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n protocols, this Windows tablet offers the maximum theoretical bandwidth of 600 Mb/s for a wireless connection, so the Wi-Fi data transfer rate is capped only by the router or modem you use. The Wi-Fi support unlocks the possibility of downloading various applications from the Windows store with no cables attached to the Fusion5. The FWIN232 tablet PC model has the newest Windows 10 OS preinstalled. The use of this operating system provides users with new features and enables a more effective utilization of the tablet hardware. All that makes watching online videos on YouTube an easy task and the display maximum resolution of 1280x800 pixels makes it quite enjoyable. In general, the tablet hardware allows performing everyday tasks with no low-performance issues and using the WIN232 Windows tablet as a digital entertainment device. The small weight and slim case make the tablet carrying not tiresome at all.
Advanced Features
It is common knowledge that every portable digital device, be it a smartphone or a tablet PC has a number of expansion ports. With that, the Fusion5 offers probably the optimal combination of such ports. Having the mini HDMI, USB and MicroUSB ports on board this tablet model enables the compatibility with a very wide modern data input and output devices. Needless to say, having such ports diversity under the hood makes loading any type of files to the Fusion5 for its further processing and output to external devices an easy task. Combining the functionality of a personal organizer, mini TV, and a mini PC this Windows tablet by the Fusion is very handy for those moving from one place to another during their work.
A Few Hints on the Tablet PC Use
With its 3.5-mm audio out the Fusion5 can be used as a sound source for an external amplifier with a pair of speakers, in-wall & in-ceiling speakers or a multi-channel acoustic system that includes powered subwoofers.

Portable and Efficient
Windows tablets often feature rather modest characteristics when it comes to running modern games and even Xbox One broadcasting barely solves this problem. However, it becomes a question of the convenience of control because it is not the best solution to connect a keyboard and a mouse or a gamepad to a tablet. Exertis decided to go in a slightly different direction introducing the tablet computer Linx Vision. This tablet is not that much different from most devices running Windows 10 but the situation is drastically changed by a special docking station. The accessory has two convenient handles with a full set of all the necessary buttons similar to gamepads. Linx Vision has an 8-inch HD display, a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, and two cameras. The manufacturer designed this product with a focus on mobile games and streaming Xbox One capabilities. The tablet can be connected to the TV with a micro HDMI connector so the user can enjoy video games on a big screen. This tablet performs very well both in terms of gaming and regular Windows computing. Of course, Lynx 8" is not the smallest Windows tablet, but still this one is smaller than an average Windows tablet.
Play Your Favourite Games
The Linx Vision's controller is manufactured to simulate an Xbox One controller, with a similar disposition, if not the same, to that of one-two analog sticks, a directional pad, a trigger, ABXY buttons and shoulder buttons, Start/Back buttons, and an Xbox Guide button. Xbox user will not feel any inconvenience reaching for the buttons which may have been an issue in the past.
The Linx Vision 8 is good enough to run the full desktop applications for Windows 10 and small enough to be placed in a pocket. You can run it in the ordinary tablet mode when you need it as a tablet and run it in PC mode when you need to dig deeper into the system's folders. 32GB of storage is generally more than enough but you can expend it with a micro-SD card (read here how to choose a micro SD card).
The battery life should be enough for up to 7 hours of playing but it drains fairly quickly when used for streaming.
Summary
The Linx Vision 8 is a highly functional pocket-sized PC. This Windows 10 tablet is cheap and it's probably one of the best solutions to portable PC gaming for now. This is a fully-functional gaming Windows tablet. Of course, its lack of 64-bit software support and the shortage of internal storage make it hard to use it without a microSD card, but the advantages completely overshadow the disadvantages.

What Is a Windows Tablet?
A tablet PC is a flat portable device with a touch screen. The touch screen takes all the space on a tablet PC front side and serves as the main input/output device. With that, a tablet PC is, in essence, a small PC, which offers similar functionality. Tablet PCs that run under Windows operating system are often called Windows tablets and offer almost limitless possibilities for running the same Windows applications that are installed on your home notebook or office PC without the need to get used to analogous apps for other operating systems. A windows tablet can be an excellent tool for creative persons who like drawing, as data input is performed by touching the screen, which makes this interface very convenient for digital drawing. You can also use your Windows tablet PC as an entertainment device and play Windows games with a keyboard and a mouse connected or watch movies. Owing to Windows tablets portability you can have it as a digital assistant or a work tool to be used on the go or when on a trip.
If you are planning to use your tablet PC mostly for entertainment and convenient gaming but still want to be able to work with digital documents you can consider one of the Android tablets, which we covered in our review.
What Features to Compare
Display Characteristics
The first and the most conspicuous element of a Windows tablet that should be regarded is a display. The display diagonal size directly affects the size of the Windows tablet and thus its weight and the price (to a certain extent). Therefore you need to be careful in deciding on the tablet screen size you need as a display which is too small is bad for reading small font text while if it is too large it makes the tablet PC bulky and heavy. Please, keep in mind that a Windows tablet weighing more than 1.1 pounds is hard to hold with one hand. We recommend Windows tablet PCs with an 8-inch display for using on a trip, on the road or mostly for reading e-books as they fit into a small bag or even an inner pocket of a jacket or a coat so you can carry such devices about comfortably.
In case you are going to use your Windows tablet mostly at home rarely transporting it to another location, a model with a 10-inch screen is optimal. With this display size you can, for example, watch movies and videos while laying in your bed or do a web surfing.
Performance
The second important point one should consider is an overall performance of the Windows tablet PC. The performance is conditioned mainly by the processor and the amount of RAM installed in the tablet. The processor often integrates a CPU itself and a GPU, which is a chip dedicated to the graphics-related calculations. The CPU processing power directly influences the running of resource-intensive applications and time of the system response to user actions with such applications running. So, the more powerful the CPU and GPU are the better the system performance is. The vast majority of modern Windows tablet PCs has 4-core (calculating blocks capable of independent operation) CPUs onboard, which are capable to nearly equal the performance of portable tablets with this of desktop PCs. The amount of RAM (usually measured in gigabytes) available governs user experience of running several applications and switching between them, so the more RAM the better is the user experience. While the running applications use RAM a ROM or a storage is used for storing all the data, including applications, user information, and multimedia files. The total storage capacity, contrary to RAM, can be significantly increased by using a microSD card connected via an available expansion slot. Thus the bigger the storage the more data your Windows tablet can hold.
Extra Features
However, such features as tablet connectivity and expandability or extra features also influence a user experience greatly. For example, a video output port for connecting an external display to improve your text and graphics processing experience and making movies watching more enjoyable or connecting a digital projector to project images or videos to a large screen before a wide audience. The availability of a 4G module in your Windows tablet will enable you to use a cell phone SIM-card for having an access to the Internet even with no Wi-Fi spot around, which is very handy when you expect an important e-mail or just need to keep in touch. There are tablet PCs with an advanced design, which can also be considered an extra feature. Such tablets are called transformers and can serve as a full-fledged substitution for notebooks as they allow attaching a keyboard and use them for typing or working in Windows applications the way you do on notebooks or desktop PCs. Transformers can be very convenient as the majority of them is smaller than notebooks with a 15-inch screen and are more lightweight.
FAQ:
Q: What is the best way to choose Windows tablet?
A: You just need to pay attention to the purposes. You're the only one who really knows what kind of work you'll be doing on the tablet so define the purposes and look out for different tablets' stats. That's how you'll know for sure what kind of tablet you need. Some of the tablets are good for work or gaming, that's where you will need high performance and productivity. If you need a tablet just for watching movies - look for the best screen. Moreover, always pay attention to the price and match it with the device's stats.
Q: Is it convenient to use Windows tablet with a keyboard?
A: If your work requires typing, Windows tablet with a keyboard is much more convenient than the one without a keyboard. If you have never used a tablet keyboard it may take some time before you'll get used to it because in the majority of cases it's smaller than an ordinary one. But you will enjoy working on this tablet as soon as you master the keyboard. Just check the tablet's keyboard before buying.
Q: What is the best Windows tablet for students?
A: It's hard to choose the one and say that it'll be the best one for sure. Check the prices and decide what price you're ready to pay for the device. If you need a tablet not just for entertainment, you should pay attention to the hardware platform, operating system, RAM size, connectivity technology and processor description. If your profession relies on drawing, check out the possibility of downloading special drawing apps and stylus support.
Q: Do Windows tablets have a storage expansion (SD card) slot?
A: Almost every modern Windows tablet has a microSD card slot. It is one of the most distinctive differences between Windows tablets and an Apple iPad. Of course, each model has its own limitations but you always can expand the memory up to at least 32 Gb. If you're going to purchase a Windows tablet, it would have to be the least important problem to worry about. Windows and Android devices have never had the problems with the storage expansion. However, always check all the specifications and read description attentively and remember - every rule has its exceptions.
Q: My husband only really needs this for watching films, so which one would be better?
A: In the case when you (or your husband) needs a tablet just for watching movies, experts recommend to pay attention to the screen specs (like size and resolution) and hard drive size (however, you can storage films on the microSD card). Processor speed or operating system should not be the main thing for you to focus on so just compare the prices and specs.
