- The six inch E-Ink screen is a revelation and the black text on a non-reflective white background is remarkably clear and easy on the eyes.
- Though I knew the new touchscreen 600 model was coming out, I opted for the 505 for the crystal clear screen and haven't regretted it.
- Screen is perfect for reading and painless on the eye. Synchronizing the Reader with your PC works in much the same way as an iPod.
- It's fabulous and lightweight, easy to carry in a pocket or a handbag.
- My previous Sony E Reader broke after several years use when I accidentally leant on the screen.
- The screen size could be a little bigger - there's room at the bottom of the device that could have been better used for a larger screen.
- The goo-light is awesome! I have read an entire book at night, in the dark, without hurting my eyes and without lighting up the whole room.

- Once the e-reader is charged with the supplied USB cable the battery should last for weeks (over 6000 pages) of intensive reading.
- The e-reader is also supplied with a padded magnetic case which protects the body and screen but is secured by two fragile plastic hinges so a more robust case may be needed in future.
- The screen is sharp and doesn't hurt your eyes. Battery life is good and while I have heard complaints about the refresh rate, I don't find it a problem.
- You can change the font size of books which is helpful but can sometimes leave you with lots of words with hyphens in the middle where they were at the end.
- It has no back light so can be used in bright sunlight.
- Charge once or twice a month with average 4 hours a day reading.
