Besides that, the product is as deep-penetrating as these coloured paints get. It is sprayable but you can also apply the paint using any brush. The 5-litre can that we're discussing here will be enough to paint >30 square metres (the coverage rates vary depending on the wood's absorbency).

The product will be able to provide rough-sawn wood structures somewhere around 24 months worth of protection against the elements. That's not necessarily bad, but we've seen more impressive numbers before.

On the bright side, the solution usually takes less than one hour to dry (provided that the weather conditions are more or less normal), so you'll be able to apply the paint and use the painted structures basically immediately.

Cuprinol LMFCBL6L Less Mess Fence Care will be able to tussle with the company's most expensive fence paints, which is impressive considering that this 6-litre can/bucket costs less than most ~2-litre cans.

Sure, the product has its flaws. The bucket's lid is somewhat difficult to close properly. Also, the only available colour is black, so you'll have to purchase something different if black is not an option for you.

Still, there's not much to complain about here. The special pigments inside this paint make the shade rich and ensure even coverage, even when you don't apply more than one coat.

The paint's more adaptable than most. You can use pretty much all rollers, brushes, and sprayers to apply this paint.

On the weather protection front, this product does not disappoint either. That one coat will usually be able to protect sheds, fences, and other rough-sawn wood structures from the elements for six years straight.

As it is always the case with the company's paints, the product's formula is water-based and completely harmless as far as pets and plants are concerned. That and the fact that the paint takes somewhere around one hour to dry makes this product more than worth the modest price.

Cuprinol CUPSFTAG5L is pretty good but has its flaws compared to the company's paints that we've reviewed here, hence the last spot on this list. The paint usually takes around four hours to dry and even that's only the case when the weather conditions are optimal.

That being said, that's not the biggest drawback since there's seldom that much difference between waiting one hour and four hours as far as fences, sheds, and different rough-sawn wood garden structures are concerned.

Somewhat offsetting this drawback is the fact that this preserver restores sheds and fences better than most fence paints. Also, the price is quite attractive considering the 5-litre can. The said can comes equipped with this nice little handle that you can use to comfortably transport this bucket, which is nice too.

The autumn gold shade is lovely, subtle yet smooth and elegant at the same time. You can also choose forest green which is more earthy and homey.

Apart from that, there's not much to cover here that we haven't covered before. The water-based formula will not harm pets and plants. At the same time, the paint will be able to keep sheds and fences protected against the elements for up to six years, pretty good when you compare that to most fence paints.
