They dampen a lot of the ambient noise from your surroundings allowing an immersive experience.
He said the sound is amazing. Especially with background noises like flipping paper. It makes you feel like you are there!
The headphones aren't noise canceling but they do reduce external decibels by probably half or more.
Only thing that could be done to make this headset better would be some noise canceling memory foam padding.
Terrible no noise cancellation on outside noises, and sound at least for me is terrible.

Everything sound so clear and the noise cancellation is amazing!
The only thing was the noise cancelation was just awful. The 420X mitigates all the noise so you only here the game and chat.
Has good sound quality and noise cancelling is decent.
The sound is awesome. It shuts out outside noise. Love it!
Worked pretty good for a few hours then I started getting popping and noise.

Now don't let that discourage you, because they still sound amazing and they feel sturdy.
I can dial that volume up and hear in-game sounds amazingly well.
I love the sound (both in-game AND game/party chat is as loud or as quiet as needed).
The quality of the sound was great being able to hear more details than through my TV.
Sound is crisp and clear. A voice announces the actions taken instead of having to decifer beeps and blinking light.

A auto shutdown feature after 5 mins of not hearing anything, the headset will automatically turn off. I like it.
Two volume wheels one for party chat and game volume.
Super Human Hearing. EQ presets there are 4 being bass boost, bass and treble boost, vocal, and natural sound.
The super human hearing is kinda cool but isnt going to make you a better gamer.
The best feature of this headset is no wires; nothing to get tangled on. The battery life is also excellent.

It has a auto turn off feature that you can't turn off.
