PROS

These batteries are pretty much immune to cold. They should be able to perform even when the temperature drops as low as 40 degrees (Celcius). The Ultimate Lithium™ (lithium/iron disulfide) blend makes the batties non-hazardous and PSOC-tolerant. They're able to keep the voltage constant. They have no issues with high-charge currents.

CONS

The batteries are flammable, so we don't recommend breaking them apart.

OUR VERDICT

We like Energizer 634353 as replacement batteries for standard rechargeable batteries first and foremost. You'll never go wrong taking these batteries with you on different trips. The batteries are lightweight and efficient.

Any Temperature is Fine

First things first, Energizer 634353 are not rechargeable. In other words, these are standard batteries that you throw out when they run out of charge. Having said that, we wouldn't necessarily call these batteries standard. In fact, they're anything but.

First off, these batteries are as temperature-resistant as they come. They'll have no issues performing even when it is minus 40 degrees Celcius outside. The advertised ~1300 mAh capacity means that these batteries will last too, making them much more durable than most.

Of course, you can put these things inside any device/gadget that runs on AAA batteries. There are no restrictions here. We wouldn't, however, recommend breaking these batteries apart when you're done with them because these things are highly flammable.

These are lithium batteries. More specifically, we're talking about the company's Ultimate Lithium™ (lithium/iron disulfide) combo. They're non-hazardous and PSOC-tolerant. The voltage will remain constant. Plus, the batteries accept high-charge currents.

In conclusion, Energizer 634353 are the best replacement batteries for rechargeable batteries. You can always take these things with you on the road. They're also much more lightweight than alkaline batteries.

Not Too Basic

AmazonBasics 85AAAHCB are as affordable as rechargeable batteries come and the product's specs are up there with the best batteries on the market.

First and foremost, you'll be able to recharge these batteries 1000 times with very limited power loss. At the same time, providing an exceptionally gradual self-discharge, these batteries retain 80% of their power for 24 months.

Sure, the product has its flaws. Sometimes, the batteries come not pre-charged, so, naturally, you'll have to charge them before you'll be able to use these batteries.

On the bright side, the batteries' capacity reaches 800 mAh, so one complete charge will sometimes last for months (of course, depending on the gadget/device and how often you use that device).

The cardboard package that these batteries come in is easy to open and will let you comfortably store these batteries too.

These are Ni-MH batteries, incorporating eco-friendly cells that do not incorporate any Hg/Cd/Pb elements, produce no pollution, and are fairly resistant against overpressure explosion cases.

To sum up, AmazonBasics 85AAAHCB provide excellent value. You'll be able to use these batteries to power digital cameras, remote controls, different electronics, and various small appliances for decades to come.

From 1% to 99% in One Hour

Duracell DC2400 are ridiculously affordable. Less than 7 quid for 4 rechargeable batteries, considering the company's signature quality, is an excellent deal.

We're not saying that these batteries don't have any downsides to them. For one, you won't be able to recharge them more than 400 times.

On paper, that sounds fairly pedestrian compared to the company's competition. Having said that, has anyone ever actually recharged any batteries like 500+ times? We don't think so.

The Duralock™ tech makes sure these batteries last even when you don't use them. You can recharge the batteries, toss them away, and put these batteries to good use six months afterwards.

Again, there are four batteries inside the plastic pack. It is good enough for storage and transportation.

When you charge these batteries using the company's high-speed charger, the batteries will go from 1% to 99% in an hour tops. At the same time, Duracell's Long-Life Ion Core tech makes sure the voltage remains stable and consistent.

All things considered, Duracell DC2400 are an easy choice to make. You're barely spending any money here. In return, these batteries will let you power wireless mice for 50+ hours and take more than 250 pictures with digital cameras (depending on the camera, of course).

No-Leak Guarantee

Energizer Recharge Extreme are not really that extreme. Bummer, we know.

Now, these are fairly good batteries. The "extreme" part just doesn't make too much sense considering that the batteries' performance under cold temperature conditions is passable at best compared to the company's competition.

On the positive side, Energizer's no-leak guarantee pretty much guarantees that these batteries won't ruin expensive electronics, so you can put them inside any device without worrying about its safety. Also, the batteries always come completely pre-charged, so you can put them to good use right away.

As far as capacity is concerned, these batteries max out at 800 mAh, which is pretty good and might even last for months depending on the devices' usage rate. You'll be able to recharge these AAA batteries 500 times, which is, again, good enough considering the batteries' price and performance.

Last but not least, these are Ni-MH batteries, so you won't have to worry about increasing your environmental footprint and can use/store these things around kids and pets.

In closing, Energizer Recharge Extreme are great for everyday devices that require constant replacement (like cordless phones and mp3 players). They're also pretty good for devices that you don't use very often. The batteries will last for 12 months when not in use.

Highest Capacity

EBL AAA16 1100mAh Rechargeable AAA Batteries are pretty handy. These batteries come pre-charged 15-20% with solar energy.

The company's ProCyco tech extends the batteries' lifespan to 1200 cycles, which is pretty good all things considered.

At the same time, the batteries' 1100-mAh capacity means that these things will last. You won't have to recharge them very often.

On the high-tech front, these things incorporate embedded seal structures that expand crystal lattice space, making more room for hydrogen and letting these batteries hold 75% power after 2-3 years compared to standard AAA batteries.

Other than that, the Ni-MH eco-friendly cells don’t contain any Hg/Cd/Pb, producing no pollution and using DBCK steel shells to protect the batteries against overpressure explosion cases.

There are 16 batteries in the pack, so the product is quite cost-effective too.

The manufacturers do not recommend letting the batteries completely discharge, that's pretty much the only inconvenience associated with these things.

Apart from that, EBL AAA16 1100mAh Rechargeable AAA Batteries will last. These high-capacity batteries might just be able to outlast them all. They're up there with the strongest batteries too.

What Are AAA batteries?

Double- and triple-A batteries are not even remotely as prevalent as these things were less than two decades ago. They're far from obsolete though.

Different toys, flashlights, clocks, remote controls, calculators, clocks, radios, shavers, electric toothbrushes, various portable electronics (including wireless mice and keyboards), there are so many devices these days that run on these batteries that you don't have to convince anyone these rechargeable AAA batteries are pretty much must-have household items all things considered.

The difference between these batteries usually boils down to battery type, capacity, and longevity. Alkaline batteries these days usually fall under the lithium or Ni-MH categories.

As far as capacity is concerned, these batteries meander between ~400 and >1000 mAh, so consider where you'll be putting these batteries because everyday devices will require decent capacity. Otherwise, you'll be replacing the batteries every month.

Apart from that, look into the maximum stated charge cycles. They're not always 100% accurate but will give you at least some idea regarding how long the batteries will last.

You'll need a battery charger to charge these batteries. To use the charger on the road, you probably might require a travel adapter though.
