Ride Anywhere
The vast majority of hoverboards available on the market are meant for riding on paved surfaces, as these generally provide the smoothest riding experience. Even many of the models that are labeled as being "All Terrain" will provide only a smooth experience on paved surfaces. This is largely due to the smaller and slimmer wheel sizes on most models.
The COLORWAY 8.5" All Terrain Self Balancing Scooter, however, can truly call itself an all-terrain hoverboard thanks in large part to the 8.5-inch wheels that the scooter uses. These wheels aren't just larger in diameter, though. The solid rubber tires provide excellent traction on virtually any type of surface, even off-road, so you can enjoy a smooth riding experience anywhere that this scooter can take you.
At the same time, being an all-terrain hoverboard doesn't mean this model makes tradeoffs elsewhere. The solid construction of this hoverboard presents a tough exterior that makes this scooter able to handle virtually all conditions, and its IP54 waterproof casing ensures that even wet weather won't present a problem for it. Those who are worried about getting caught in the rain while riding won't have anything to worry about here.
Loaded With Extras
Just as this hoverboard is able to handle virtually any type of weather or terrain, it can handle almost any type of rider as well. The smooth operation of the hoverboard presents a great riding experience for both newbies and seasoned hoverboard veterans alike, providing pretty much everything that either type of rider would want. In fact, this hoverboard is able to handle riders weighing up to 120 kg thanks to the powerful 2 x 350 W motors that power the device. Even at the top weight, this hoverboard can go at a top speed exceeding 12 km/h, and can even go up inclines up to 15 degrees. For lighter riders, the maximum speed tops out at 15 km/h, so you can go plenty fast here.
Plenty of extra features are included in this model. This rechargeable hoverboard can operate for up to 3 hours of riding time, with a full recharge time taking between 4 to 6 hours, depending on various conditions. The hoverboard includes front-mounted LED lights that can light up your way in the dark, and even features a built-in Bluetooth speaker for playing your favorite tunes while riding. You can even operate the hoverboard through an app on your smartphone (both Android and iOS supported), making the process quite easy for beginners.
Regardless of your experience with hoverboards, virtually anyone should find this model to be one of the best ones available on the market.

Lights, Hoverboard, Action!
We frankly can’t imagine why anybody wouldn’t want to scoot around on a hoverboard. These lightweight and sleek vehicles combine modern technology with speed and eco-friendliness, giving you the best of both worlds. And the Bluewheel HX310s is one of the prime examples of this smart design.
The curved black body of this model can withstand quite a bit of damage without losing its glossy look. And though you might think the dark shade of this model makes it a poor choice for riding in the evening as the sun sets and visibility dips, that’s not entirely true. This model has special lights in the front, both to amplify its design and give passers-by a chance to spot you and prevent the collision. Besides, you don’t have to settle for the standard black shade, there are many colour scheme choices available though we do prefer the sleek dark body over most others.
Controls in Your Hands
As for advanced technology, the Bluewheel HX310S offers that in spades as well. The device can be controlled and given maintenance via your smartphone (iOS and Android supported) using the special Bluewheel app. In it, you can check the distance you’ve travelled, see the current speed and battery level as well as put a limit on top speed and control sensitivity. This makes riding the board easier and, if you want to give it to your child, safer as you can ensure that the Bluewheel HX310S doesn’t go too fast or spin out of control.
We wish that safety extended to the surface of the device, though, but, sadly, the non-slip grips on the hoverboard seem to wear out over time, which means some shoes might slide on its surface. Thus, try not to go ride the board in the rain or wear shoes with slipper soles. Minimise the risk of accidents, even if the board does only go 15 km/h.
More Than Meets the Eye
We don’t want to bore you with the nitty-gritty tech specs so let’s just point out that this model can be ridden by kids of age 7 and above and any adults as long as they’re below 100 kg. So if you’ve been staying fit, you can certainly jump onto the Bluewheel HX310s and roll away into the sunset, remembering the kid in you. You can go for 2-3 hours at a time, which can get you reasonably far, though the manufacturer sets the max at 20 km. However, combine the operation time with the 15 km/h max speed and you get a higher and more impressive number.
And that’s really what the Bluewheel HX310s is all about - hidden depths. This hoverboard may be simple in appearance but it boasts the newest technology, offers advanced control options, and smart design. There’s little else you could ask for.

However, it should be noted that the gold chrome hoverboard will cost a little more than other models. But money is not that important thing when it comes to style, fashion, and distinctness, agree?
The front LED lights ensure perfect illumination and make you clearly visible at night. In addition, it contributes to the extraordinary appearance of the board.
This machine is pretty easy to manage. All the detailed information is given in the manual (comes in the kit) in English, so you will have no problems at all. Here are some features we've picked up from it:
- The device tells you when the battery runs out;
- When speed is above 10 km/h, the board will inform you;
- If one of the wheels is out of order, the appliance stops automatically;
- The hoverboard indicates when it is fully charged and should be disconnected from the network;

Firm Grip
The ability to accurately and instantly control the direction and movement of a hoverboard is one of the most important factors when it comes to the rider's safety. Sudden stops, slips, or skids can cause the rider to easily fall off, especially when going at the top speed, and this is when injuries are most likely to occur. That's why it is important for a hoverboard to have maximum grip on whatever surface you are riding on, in order to ensure that you stay upright and in control at all times.
The BEBK Windgoo 6.5-inch hoverboard helps keep you upright thanks to the rubberised tires on the wheels, which provide a good, firm grip on whatever surface you are riding on. This is especially important whenever the hoverboard is being ridden on a wet or slippery surface, and thankfully the wheels here will maintain their grip on almost any type of surface. Just try to avoid riding it on ice, and there should be little to worry about.
Weather Resistant
Some people may worry about the ability to maintain a hoverboard's condition whenever it is exposed to the elements. After all, this is a legitimate concern of any device of this type, as exposure to dust and moisture can cause problems with virtually anything that has moving parts. This particular model was built with this in mind, as it is made with a dust and moisture resistance casing, letting you ride around without having to worry about the elements.
This hoverboard includes 250W dual motors that give you plenty of riding power, with a top speed of up to 10-12 km/h, giving you plenty of speed to fly around without going so fast as to risk injuring yourself. One small drawback is that the battery life is a bit on the low side, giving you only 1.5 hours on a full charge, but most people shouldn't see too much of a difference between this unit's battery power when compared to other models.
Safety First
As we've mentioned before, the fact that this hoverboard maitains a firm grip on almost any surface makes it quite easy and safe to control. Along with this, the safety features of this hoverboard have been given increased attention, making it one of the safest models to ride around on. This means you can let your child ride it without having to spend extra time worrying about their safety, although, of course, it is always best to make sure they are supervised while it is being used.
In short, the extraordinary safety of this motherboard along with extra features such as the built-in Bluetooth speakers makes this one of the best hoverboards available for anyone who wants to give one a try, even if you are a hoverboard novice.

Safety Features in Abundance
Safety features for any type of moving vehicle are a necessity, and this is especially true for hoverboards, which can be dangerous devices if not used properly. Just as the rider needs to use the device properly, though, the device itself also needs to notify the rider of any faults that may cause crashes.
With the GeekMe 6.5" Self Balancing Scooter, you get every necessary safety feature to ensure the safest possible riding experience for younger riders. Not only is the self-stabilization feature of this hoverboard top-notch, but also it includes a variety of protection and alert functions that help enhance the overall safety of the device.
The myriad of protections included in this hoverboard are for typical internal faults such as overheating, short-circuiting, overcharging, and overcurrent, which should prevent any major internal issues from causing the hoverboard to not run properly. In addition, the device also includes alerts for exceeding the maximum weight of the device as well as for a battery that is almost out of power, so you can stay constantly aware of the device's status. All in all, these features all add up into this hoverboard being one of the safest models to use.
Powerful and Agile
The abundance of safety features included in this hoverboard don't take away from its performance. In fact, virtually anyone will be surprised at how fast and agile this hoverboard is. The device includes dual 350 W motors that give plenty of power to the rider, with the hoverboard able to reach a top speed of up to 12-15 km/h, making it able to match the fastest hoverboards that we have reviewed here. In addition, this hoverboard includes gyroscopes and sensors that have an increased sensitivity when compared to other models, making this hoverboard an ideal model for performing many of the popular hoverboard tricks out there. Seasoned hoverboard riders will surely find this to be a favorite model.
Plenty of other features are included in this device as well. The internal lithium battery provides an operating time of up to 3 hours while taking no more than 4 hours to fully charge. The hoverboard also includes built-in lights, both for show and for usefulness, that will make this model really stand out from most other hoverboards out there. A built-in Bluetooth speaker is included that allows you to listen to loud music while riding, which is sure to make you the envy of your friends.
In the end, this highly safe and fully-featured hoverboard is a fantastic bargain for seasoned riders looking for a powerful and agile model to perform all kinds of hoverboard tricks.

What Is a Hoverboard?
We call them "hoverboards" although they are not the exact replicas of those encountered by Marty McFly in his trip to 2015 from 1985. Sadly, the real future still has to offer us a board capable of travelling long distances without wheels at all. All we have are these so-called hoverboards that are, in fact, self-balancing scooters or self-balancing two-wheeled boards. So what are they?
Visually, these hoverboards are simple compact boards with two big wheels at the sides. Inside, they have hidden motors like electric bikes that are spurred into movement by sensors that "feel" you step on the board. The direction is set by you moving your body. It may seem similar to a skateboard but it is not, really. Not that similar. For starters, it needs less physical efforts to move, due to a motor, and is more versatile when it comes to challenging terrains.
When used the right way, a hoverboard is a pretty safe and smart device, even at high speeds. It responds to the slightest shift of your body and follows the direction you set. It is also quite compact and durable when it comes to temperature fluctuations. Finally, it is a trendy toy today, everyone wants one.
Note: Riding a hoverboard is illegal on public roads and pavements in the UK, so it's a no-no purchase unless you have a chance to play with it on private property and have the permission of the owner.
What Features to Compare
Targeted Users
Same as any other personal means of transportation, hoverboards have their own restrictions in use. Some models have age limitations and others can only support users within a certain weight range. Bottom limits are created to keep small children away as hoverboards can reach quite high speeds and therefore will be difficult to control for a kid. Upper boundaries generally only deal with weight and mean that the materials your board is made of have durability limits. The latter are fairly high, though, so no worries if you are a bit plus size. The said limitations are usually outlined by each manufacturer for each model. All-in-all, bigger wheels allow more load but there are specific cases, too.
Power
Hoverboards are powered by motors installed in the wheels. However, motor power here does not exactly equal speed; the max speed is pre-programmed and limited at the development stage in order to make the device safer. The high-power motor will be an advantage for users whose weight is closer to the upper limit.
Also, power might become an issue if you tend to climb hills on your hoverboard, but keep in mind that steep hills are often off-limits for this particular transportation method. Typically, most hoverboards are rated for inclines of no more than 10 to 15 degrees, so be aware of what the model you choose is rated for. Trying to climb hills steeper than its rating can have negative effects on the hoverboard, including damaging the motors as well as causing other internal electrical faults.
Battery
Being an electric device, a hoverboard needs power in order to operate. And being a portable item, it has a battery. The energy issue is fairly simple—the more capacity there is in your board's battery the longer its operational time is. But high-capacity batteries are also those that take more time to charge. If charge time is an issue, you will want to find a hoverboard that has a good balance of operating and charging time.
Extras
Plenty of hoverboard models include an array of extra features that will make the hoverboard appeal to different types of riders. The types of extra features that are often found will vary by quite a bit, so be sure to pay special attention to the features offered by any particular model. Some of the most common extra features include LED lights that allow for riding in the dark, while others may include additional lights just for the sake of making the device look flashy. Built-in Bluetooth and wireless connectivity are also common features, which allow for playing music through a device's built-in Bluetooth speaker, or even for operating the hoverboard from your phone.
FAQ:
Q: Do hoverboards really explode?
A: They used to when first launched, yes. This is the reality and we need to face it. But the problem was acknowledged and the solution found, the batteries were upgraded to be safer and a certificate was created to evaluate them. Please only buy boards with UL 2272 Certificate. This is a certificate that is only given to the electric devices that meet very strict requirements regarding safety. All the hoverboards on our list have this certificate.
Q: How fast can I go on a hoverboard?
A: Generally, self-balancing scooters offer speed from 6 to 10 miles per hour although there are models that can go at 13 mph. But when you consider this parameter, note that the speed you see on the board or at the website selling it is the top speed under perfect conditions. That is, smooth surface at 0°. If you go up a small hill or over bumps, the speed drops.
Q: What is the weight limit?
A: Most manufacturers make their hoverboards able to hold up to 100 kg of weight, and some also establish lower limits at which the board won’t recognise a too light rider. The latter is made to keep small kids away.
Q: Are these waterproof?
A: Depends on how you define “waterproof”. If you want to go swimming with a hoverboard, please don’t. Even a puddle will most probably be a death of your board so no riding in or after a heavy rain. But if you look carefully, you’ll see IP54 certified ones; this means the board is splash-proof and will survive a little drizzle.
Q: Why do I need Bluetooth one?
A: You don’t if you are not into fancy features. Bluetooth connectivity is mostly used to either control the board remotely (lock it, set alarms, play with it by making it “dance” around empty) or play music through board’s speakers. If you want a board to simply ride it, you may opt for a bit cheaper one without extras.
Q: Can I ride my board anywhere I want?
A: That depends entirely on your local laws. Some regions allow hoverboards on the same venues as bikes or skateboards whereas others consider them too dangerous to be on the streets. Also, sometimes certain places (malls and airports to name a couple) restrict boards regardless of legislation. Wherever you are located, or wherever you want to ride your hoverboard, make sure you check the local laws in that area before riding it on the street.
