Equipped with a WNCR noise control technology, the model's noise performance is practically non-existent and it is able to pick up and restore the smallest sound details. The volume memory feature automatically memorises the last volume output level.
With batteries, the microphone gets a little heavy.
K&F Concept M-8 is easily the best microphone here. Sure, it isn't the cheapest option, far from it. But what the model lacks in modest pricing it more than makes up with exceptional performance, robust functionality, and wireless capabilities.

The Smallest Sound Details
The K&F Concept M-8 is less of a lavalier microphone and more of a communication and recording powerhouse. The model is perfect for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to professional photography, news interviews, video recording, classroom lectures, and anything along these lines.
Equipped with a WNCR noise control technology, the model's noise performance is practically non-existent and it is able to restore the smallest sound details. Adopting the UHF frequency band and a composite anti-interference circuit, it allows you to select six different channels, each with excellent quality and range. With its excellent anti-interference properties, the microphone lets you use 4 sets at the same time.
Though it isn't just about the performance either since the model's design is just as impressive. A large LCD screen lets you set and read volume and channel data with ease. The adjustment button prevents accidental contact.
The volume memory feature automatically memorises the last volume output level, so you won't have to change and adjust it every time you turn the microphone on.
All things considered, the K&F Concept M-8 is easily the best lavalier microphone here. Sure, it isn't the cheapest option, far from it. But what this cordless model lacks in modest pricing it more than makes up with excellent performance and robust functionality.
Watch Your Voice
The Rode company was founded in 1967 when immigrants from Sweden Henry and Astrid Freedman opened their shop in Australia. Since then, the company's activity has expanded beyond the continent and the total space of their warehouses has reached 30,000 sq ft. Furthermore, the company received Red Dot and Australian International Design award many times. We will review its lavalier mic called smartLav+ which is distinguished by its full compatibility with both iOS and Android-based devices.
To start recording, you only need to hook up the mic with your smartphone or tablet via a standard 3.5mm jack. To unleash the full potential of device and see its all capabilities, install RØDE Rec app via which you'll be able to watch the frequency diagram of your voice and monitor your speech tonality making the needed improvements to sound better when it's needed.
Speaking of technical specifications, the mic's condenser cap is able to record speech within the range of 60 Hz to 18 kHz which allows capturing voices of both men and women alike, preserving their natural tonality and clarity. The kit includes a convenient bag for storage and carrying and a windscreen. The cable is reinforced with Kevlar that ensures durability and wear-resistance, and its length is 4 ft - enough for comfortable use.
As you can see, this lapel microphone can be efficiently used for recording video clips, as well as for audio dubbing thanks to the branded app for iOS and Android smartphones.
Top Autonomous Device
Audio-Technica was founded by Hideo Matsushita in Tokio in 1962. In the beginning, the company manufactured phonograph cartridges, but today its assortment comprises headphones, microphones, mixing consoles, and many other audio and video products. Thanks to the development of the UniGuard® technology, in 2005 the company started to produce first-ever headphones resistant to radio frequency interference. The ATR3350 lavalier microphone is one of its great omnidirectional models which is worth your attention.
Though it doesn't strike with its frequency range which is quite moderate here, it is distinguished by its self-sufficient operation that doesn't require using a transmitter. Instead, it comes with a small power unit (fed by an LR44 battery) with a single ON/OFF switch. This also makes this mic compatible with literally any device that doesn't use external power source, such as a smartphone, tablet, photo- or video camera. We also liked that the mic is fitted with a pretty long cable reaching 20 ft in length, allowing its use even outdoors if needed. But the best proof of its quality and worthiness is that it's covered with a lifetime warranty by the manufacturer. Awesome choice!
All in all, we recommend this lavalier mic to users who make indoor recordings and do not want to bother with additional equipment.
360-Degree Coverage
The BOYA BY-M1 is a solid lavalier mic for DSLR cameras, Android smartphones, iPhones, computers, audio recorders, and a large variety of different devices. Of course, first and foremost, a microphone has to be good at picking up the audio. And, without going too much into the technical details, the model does a fairly solid job of that. The omni-directional pickup pattern gives you full 360-degree coverage.
When it comes to these microphones, a lot rides on the cable. Here, we have a robust 6-metre cable with a 3.5-millimetre 4-pole gold plug. It is reinforced in places that are the most prone to kinking and fracturing, so it should be able to serve you for a long time. Equipped with a high-quality condenser, this lavalier microphone is particularly suitable for video use.
Sure, it isn't without its flaws. The noise-cancelling technology here is present but its quality leaves quite a lot to be desired. That being said, the microphone comes with a foam windscreen so, at the very least, you'll be able to reduce the background noise coming from the wind. In addition to the windscreen, the package also includes a lapel clip that will help you fasten the microphone to your clothes and will keep it there even as you power walk or run.
Now combine all of it with an affordable price and you have yourself a really good lavalier microphone for people who often throw presentations or are in the running commentary business.
Compatibility Galore
With the Blixxo BLM-10, it is mostly about the product's versatility. It is an impressive device in and of itself but what makes it a truly compelling choice are all of the accessories that come with the mic.
Dubbed the "super value pack", the package includes a compact carry case, stainless steel mounting clip, an indoor mic cover in a sponge windscreen, an outdoor mic cover in a fuzzy windscreen, a silicon cable wrap roller, TRRS-to-TRS adapter as well as a TRS-to-mini USB adapter.
The latter 10-pin adapter will allow you to connect the microphone to a GoPro or similar action cameras. The other connectors and the mic's native interface will let you use the device in combination with any PC or Mac computer, most smartphones and tablets, the majority of DSLR cameras as well as more or less every single modern-day recording device.
Which is great considering that you will want to use the microphone with them thanks to its crisp audio performance and a solid frequency range. Just like every other model on this list, BLM-10 is omni-directional, meaning, of course, that it is able to effectively pick up sound coming from any direction.
As far as we're concerned, the only problem with this product is that all of the accessories that come with it are difficult to fit inside the carry case.
Other than that, we would recommend it to practically anyone looking for a quality hands-free mic for shooting videos, recording music, conferences, podcasts, live presentations, and online seminars (webinars).
What Is a Lavalier Microphone?
You have probably noticed by now that, more often than not, videos recorded on a smartphone, tablet, or camera don't sound all that good and clear. This is so simply because most mobile gadgets just aren't designed for that kind of professional use. Now, those who feel like recording audio and video with no quality loss should consider using a lavalier microphone with a decent frequency response and sensibility characteristics. With a microphone like that, you'll be able to match the excellent video quality with equally impressive audio. From a range of microphones available, in this review, we'd like to present our selection of the best lavalier microphones available on the market today. This type of microphones comes together with a clip to allow public and television personalities to attach the mic to clothing and use it hands-free. Most feature some sort of a noise-cancelling technology to mute the background noise and focus on the important audio.
We also recommend reading our reviews of recording microphones for professional sound records, as well as headphones to enjoy your favourite audio tracks.
