About the Product
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III Digital Camera is a versatile and advanced point-and-shoot featuring a large 20.1 megapixel 1" Exmor R CMOS sensor to produce high-resolution still imagery and full HD video. This sensor's design utilizes backside-illuminated technology to improve clarity and image quality when working in dimly-lit conditions as well as increase the sensitivity to a native ISO 12800.
Sony's RX100-series created the large-sensor compact camera category. Now, the Sony RX100 V takes it to the next level with performance that can blow away most interchangeable-lens cameras, yet in a package that can slip almost unnoticed into your pants pocket. And thanks to that big image sensor, the RX100 V's 20-megapixel stills and 4K video offer top-notch quality to boot.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III 20.1 MP,3 x Optical Zoom,3 -inch LCD
  • Top class performing compact camera. It's adaptability is formidable. Nice size and feel.
  • It small size is great, I put it in my pocket and forget about it.
  • The greatest feature of the DSC-RX100 series is its compact size.
  • Small size. I carry the camera in a case that I wear on my belt. And this does not bother me.
  • It has little real estate and smooth surfaces that are not conducive to grip it securely, especially if one's hands are sweaty on a hot day.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 V
  • This is another example of Sony's ground breaking technology placed into a perfect pocket size.
  • I love the size, it fits in my palante packs shoulder strap pocket, will fit nicely in a coat pocket.
  • I can easily "palm" it and hide it in my hands. I can slip it into my jacket pocket, pants, brief case.
  • In real use, this camera adds almost no weight and size to your bag. Image quality is superb.
  • The size is an issue. Not because its dimensions and weight but its hard to hold. Not ergonomically suited for man hands.

What customers say about "Imaging"
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III 20.1 MP,3 x Optical Zoom,3 -inch LCD
  • It has three custom profiles allowing you to set the quality, iso, etc.
  • Excellent high ISO performance. Big 1-inch image sensor. Sharp, wide aperture lens.
  • The faster lens is a noticeable improvement. Indoor shots without flash at reasonable ISO's are much more feasible now.
  • Love the image quality even above ISO 3200. Only contention I have is the tendency to go to 1/30 shutter speed for any full automatic function.
  • Although not perfect by a long ways, limited focal length range, no hot shoe, feeble flash.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 V
  • It produces outstanding images with the help of a 1in sensor and the fast 24-70 Zeiss lens.
  • Consider this little camera as a dslr with a fixed zoom lens. Incredible sharp images at 24 mm focal length with mind blowing low light performance and autofocus speed.
  • Macro capability: focusing distance about 5 cm at 24 mm focal length.
  • Great user interface: dslr like functionality in manual mode, focal length, shutter speed and iso adjustments.
  • Not sharp at maximum focal length. Having a focal range of 24-70 is limiting.

What customers say about "Display"
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III 20.1 MP,3 x Optical Zoom,3 -inch LCD
  • EVF viewfinder, great for concerts to turn off LCD display to not disturb others in audience.
  • The LCD display to automatically go blank when using the EVF viewfinder.
  • "Selfies" easy to take with rotating lcd display, bracketing modes make for very pleasing results in mixed lighting.
  • The big factors in the purchase were RAW capability, the size, the optical viewfinder and the sensor size/technology. And it met my expectations.
  • The RX100 M3 has a built-in viewfinder that pops up and with it, the camera turns on. Pop it down and it's off.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 V
  • The included optical finder is however a nice feature as the rear display is not usable in bright sunlight.
  • In terms of use, it is fairly easy to take photos. You can use the EVF or LCD screen.
  • Excellent high contrast and bright LCD screen that can be turned to face forward, and a very useful pop-up viewfinder which is terrific if you don't like framing your subject in the back panel LCD.
  • The LCD display shows "Unable to disply". I can not see the pictures I take.
  • When vlogging w/ this camera, over time though the screen has developed a scratch line, horizontally, across the entire screen where a piece of metal sticks out.

What customers say about "Features"
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III 20.1 MP,3 x Optical Zoom,3 -inch LCD
  • It has some fun effects like sepia and watercolour. The excellent panorama mode is something I really appreciate.
  • Sweep panorama pictures can be shot either horizontally or vertically. I found the vertical sweep panorama to be an excellent way to get a wide-angle view without much distortion.
  • The ability to easily shoot high or low angle pictures is a great advantage. I have always liked using compact cameras from the ant's eye view and this makes it a lot easier to do.
  • The shutters drops very quickly without any undue lag. I really like the burst mode on this camera with the shutter sounds turned off. It is a great way to get very natural candids of friends and family.
  • Depending on what I shoot, I use a combination of manual, aperture, or shutter mode when I travel. And it works great.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 V
  • Takes stunning photos, and punches well above its weight. Nice fast auto-focus.
  • This camera has the ability to shoot 4K at up to 30p 100mbps. The 4K image is stellar, sharp, very detailed and color is great.
  • A great compact camera that I can get into all of the concert venues. It shoots great in low light and the microphone for recording audio is decent.
  • I can control every setting I need to, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, WB and the ND filter, excellent.
  • Copying forward from other reviews from various sources: poor battery life(220 pictures), overheating when shooting 4K within 5 minutes.

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III 20.1 MP,3 x Optical Zoom,3 -inch LCD
  • Finally the battery/memory card cover is a little flimsy but not bad. All other covers (HDMI port, USB terminal) are ok.
  • When the device is completely discharged, you can still use it by connecting it to charging via USB.
  • Files are played quickly and with the same quality on a computer or on a TV. This makes me happy.
  • I also like how easy it is to transfer files to your phone via NFC/Wifi as it makes it easy to share pictures.
  • You need to transfer the photos first to the computer and then they can only be printed, it is a pity that there is no way to immediately print from the camera.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 V
  • The battery is tiny, but the camera does have the option to plug in USB power, which is nice.
  • Can run USB power if your battery is low. Good for those who want to use this as a time-lapse.
  • Niggle is that the video can't be read from the SD card without using the Sony software, unlike (say) the Panasonic Lumix cameras.
  • Wifi sync can't find computers connected to a Wifi 5Ghz network because it's only standard 2.4GHz itself.
  • I was upset by the lack of PictBridge technology because I liked to print directly from the camera.
