What customers say about "Key Specs"
Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G Lens for Camera
  • I have a longer telephone and a prime lens in my kit, this lens fits in well, performing better than both when you require VR and a bit of focal length variability around the 20-40mm range.
  • This lens is really good. It is sharp, light, the AF is instantaneous and almost silent.
  • These little lenses are the latest in a long series of great 18-55 dx lenses and the new pulse motor focuses very fast.
  • The f5.6 aperture makes it useless for me though. Lenses for crop sensor cameras should not have a smaller maximum aperture than f4 maximum.
  • Despite information on the web site this lens was not compatible with my camera.
Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II Lens Black
  • That simply means understanding how to use aperture, shutter speed, white balance, ISO, and lighting among other things to achieve the best results.
  • The sweet spot is around f/5.6 - f/8 as you get some diffraction at smaller apertures.
  • Considering cost, performance, quality, and the fact that it is light and has the most needed focal range, I have to buy it.
  • This is a very bad lens. It's not really sharp at any aperture, and has bad barrel distortion at all focal lengths.
  • I am upset with the focal length because it does not fit my work because it does not demonstrate focal length that the manufacturers spoke about.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G Lens for Camera
  • Excellent lens. Lightweight and good quality results. Looking to reduce bulk and weight of my camera so that I can carry it around with me all the time on holiday and use it in cycle tours.
  • Do your homework on compatible cameras. It becomes small - you use that round button on the lens to lock it in small size for travel.
  • I am pleased with the quality of the photos, size, focus speed and it is very quiet.
  • It worked great! The size is nice. It works perfectly. Pictures come out awesome. This is a great additional and part for my Nikon camera.
  • Perfect for that everyday lens - compact, lightweight and perfect range.
Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II Lens Black
  • Two main advantages of this over other standard zooms are the small size and it's ability to focus quite closely.
  • It's limited because of the size, but also get lighter because of the size. For normal use it's good enough, but a longer one will be better.
  • Works well and is nice and compact it is also nice and light weight. A quick acting lens with good focus.
  • This lens works great, is well built, and works perfectly with my camera. It is a little lighter (weight wise) than the VR.
  • Very pleased! Lightweight. See no problems with sharpness.

What customers say about "Imaging"
Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G Lens for Camera
  • It has vibration reduction and if you shoot with this lens which is the sharpness sweet spot your pictures will be equal to many lenses priced in the $1,000 range.
  • It focuses noticeably faster than the 18-55 AF-S lens it replaces.
  • I bought it to replace the older version as the auto focus motor broke. Autofocus is so much quieter and quicker.
  • I usually shoot video indoors or in low lighting scenerios and the 5.6 aperture makes the ISO shoot upwards so that even shootinv with a d500 the video quality is not good.
  • Returning as faulty, focus not working either in auto or by manually turning the focus ring.
Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II Lens Black
  • This is the best small range lens i have to date to and its brillaint, it has a smooth function when focusing and brilliant focus.
  • The focus is fast and crisp. As with any wide angle lens there is some distortion at the sides of the frame the closer you get to full 55 zoom.
  • Lens uses the cameras auto focus abilities for a digital slr camera. Manual mode is also available if you choose to use manual focus options as well.
  • The focus ring is right on the end and difficult to operate to any precision. Almost every image I've ever taken on it is well below the capability of my D3200.
  • The excessive play in the zoom barrel causes the image in the view finder to shift each time the manual focus ring is touched or released.

What customers say about "Features"
Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G Lens for Camera
  • "Super quiet" auto focussing that's the claim for Nikon's new stock lens, and super quiet it is - in fact ,"close to silent" would be a better description.
  • The AF-P motor is very new and will only work with very recent cameras. It is 99% compatible with my D7200 but there is no option to disable the VR.
  • This lens works flawlessly on my Nikon D500. The clarity is amazing auto focus fast.
  • This item was returned as was not compatible with my Nikon D40 camera even after going through compatibility checks prior to purchasing.
  • It should be made very clear that this lens is not compatible with 3100, the autofocus won’t work.
Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II Lens Black
  • This is a light, quiet, fairly fast focus lens that has low distortion for the price with seven diaphragm blades which are rounded at the larger apertures.
  • It is a used lens, they don't make them anymore, but it is tack-sharp and cheap enough that you don't need a uv filter to protect it.
  • It arrived from manufacturer much sooner than expected and with the added bonus of a clear filter to protect the front-end element.
  • Filter mount turns when focusing: forget using polarization filters.
  • Cheap, flimsy construction: the silent wave motor on this lens is a cheap budget edition. The gears are plastic.
