- The sound and imaging is tremendous; these speakers do an outstanding job and do not need much power as they are very efficient (95dB @ 1 watt/1 meter).
- At first, they sounded a bit hollow. But after about 30 minutes of play time, they started smoothing out. Wow, these sound great.
- They sound great and still work well. They are very loud and I probably really only needed the 550's but that doesn't take away from the 650's getting 5 stars.
- These are great sounding outdoor speakers. I would highly recommend them.
- For the money the sound quality seemed acceptable, but then after less than a week of use one of the tweeters stopped working.
- The system sounds great around the pool and has plenty of power to irritate the neighbors.
- These are really great speakers. I use them in my work van. I have them on a 200 watt amp with a powered subwoofer. they sound great
- They sound fantastic, even when compared with my Lifestyle 48 system. The power it very nicely. Makes my pool so enjoyable.
- When pushing the Pioneer ICE amp to its peak, the power out of these units was more like a professional setup that a neighbor getting his rock on.
- You need to drive the AMP hard to obtain good output sound level SPL. The speaker lacks crisp highs - and lacks acceptable bass (you need a sub)
- Once hanging on the side of the house they don't seem too big outside.
- These are big and bold... but do they ever deliver!
- They look huge, but if they're up high, you'll get used to it and they won't seem so big :-P.
- They are big and the sound is superb. I always get compliments from guests.
- They sound great, but are physically very big, so think about that. T
- These speakers are very compact in size, especially considering the performance you get from them
- SOLID BUILD QUALITY: The cabinets are durable and designed to last.
- The 251's build quality is great, they mount nice and look good.
- The durability will insure you have an amazing outdoor experience for years to come even in the most extreme weather conditions.
- The accuracy and clarity of these speakers is nothing short of stunning! It's such a pleasure to be able to sit outdoors and still enjoy audiophile grade sound.
- The Klipsch compared to the Polks.... I blind tested my friends and the sound was pretty close - dead even to a few of them.
- They are bigger than I pictured them to be, but the audio quality is very good. They are highly sensitive, so they don't take much power to play loud!
- More sound, however i am going to pair them with a sub and pull out the low end frequency to allow for higher volume mid's and highs.
- I will add sub woofer outside and filter low frequencies to sub woofer but the speakers of this size should not be sound like crap/muffled with bass reduced . very disappointed.
- The design of the Bose 251 addresses that issue by including two 2.5" "twiddlers" (a Bose trademark) in each speaker. These are larger than typical 1" to 1.25" tweeters, and cover a broader frequency range.
- The result of the design of the Bose 251 is that the mid and higher frequency sound is dispersed over a much wider area than in a conventional speaker design.
- Overall, a great, well rounded pair of outdoor speakers. Frequency response tested as ~40Hz-15kHz. I do find that the Twiddler design does make for great mid-ranges and reasonable bass
- Has anyone noticed how hard it is to find the specifications on the speakers, frequency response and power handling - just an observation.
- Very clear sound, very neat, but no bass, not deep. Need a Subwoofer.
