There are two cup holders that you can use to free your hands and have convenient access to your drinks. The removable childproof feature makes sure your kid won't be able to start the mower. The model's single lever lets you easily raise/lower the cutting height by adjusting the machine's all four wheels at the same time.
The lawn mower is relatively heavy.
Hyundai HYM510SPE is as good as high-end petrol lawn mowers come. The machine is powerful but, at the same time, surprisingly nimble. You'll have no issues cutting around trees and flower beds in your lawn. There are no lawns that this machine won't be able to handle.

The nine different levels of central cutting height adjustment will allow you to quickly adjust the length of the lawn from 30mm to 80mm with nothing but a single lever. The powder-coated sheet steel housing of this model isn't just robust and reliable but also adds just a touch of chic and style to brighten up what is otherwise a fairly boring activity.
The minimal cutting height is limited to 30 mm.
The Einhell GC-PM 46 S Self Propelled Petrol Lawnmower is an attractive model that has quite a lot going for it, but the biggest advantage is, without a doubt, the sort of flexibility it offers that will allow virtually any customer out there to enjoy all of the benefits of this versatile product.

The model's battery life is ridiculous. You'll be able to mow any medium-sized lawn (~60 square metres) up to five times before having to recharge the battery. You'll be able to choose the cutting height between 28 and 92 millimetres. The ergonomic handlebar folds for easy storage and transportation.
It takes some time to get used to starting the engine.
Murray EQ200 is an easy choice to make. Its solid cutting width means less running up and down. Its modest weight means less pressure on your knees and back. Plus, you'll have complete control over the finish. You'll be able to make your lawn look however you want.

Hyundai HYM510SPE
Massive Cutting Potential
Hyundai HYM510SPE is a beast. We've seen many impressive petrol lawn mowers before but this thing is up there with the best of them. Its 173cc four-stroke petrol engine is no joke. It will let you effortlessly tackle all lawns. At the same time, the powerful engine isn't wasteful. It is low-emission, low-maintenance, and about as economical as four-stroke ~160-170cc engines come.
The usual push-button system here means the model runs on an internal battery, so you'll have no issues starting the mower. At the same time, the usual recoil start remains an ever-ready alternative, meaning that you'll always be able to start the machine manually when necessary. As per usual, the mower also comes supplied with a handy 12V charger.
The machine is as easy to use as it is easy to store. You can fold the soft-grip handles forward to reduce space, making storage as well as transportation hassle-free.
The model's single lever lets you easily raise/lower the cutting height by adjusting the machine's all four wheels at the same time. You move the lever to the preferred/necessary cutting height and let the machine do the adjustment for you. There are six positions between 25 and 75millimetres that you can choose from, making this machine flexible and plenty versatile.
Maximum Traction and Manoeuvrability
Of course, it is also about the machine's cutting modes. As far as flagship models are concerned, there's nothing here we haven't seen before. You have the usual four grass-cutting functions (rear discharge, side discharge, collect, and mulch), so you can always choose the one more suitable for your needs and/or preferences.
The aforementioned four wheels, by the way, are nothing to scoff at too. These things are massive, robust, and tenacious. Add to these large 8-inch front and 11-inch rear wheels the durable treated-steel deck and you have the necessary setup for maximum traction over any lawn.
We've seen these things before though. Flagship models are supposed to be different, right? Well, there aren't that many differences between this model and its predecessor. There are two cup holders that you can use to free your hands and have convenient access to your drinks. There's also the removable childproof feature that makes sure your kid won't be able to start the mower.

Hyundai P5100SPE
You're the One in Charge
Hyundai P5100SPE doesn't really trail behind its much more expensive successor. There are no medium-sized lawns and practically no large lawns that the machine won't let you tackle.
Its 510-millimetre maximum cutting makes the model especially suitable for gardeners whose lawn happens to be on a slope. Just pull back the machine's handlebar lever and it will have no issues pulling upwards, providing that easy and effortless cutting experience that minimises back and arm fatigue.
Provided that the battery is charged, you can always start the machine using the electric push-start button that makes starting quick and effortless. That being said, the traditional recoil pull-start facility is also present and very much available here.
As it is usually the case with these mid-range mowers, you'll have more than enough control over the cutting process. You can choose between the Cut and Collect, Cult and Mulch, Cut and Drop, as well as Cut and Side Discharge modes. Needless to say, you'll have complete and total freedom to make your lawn look the way you want.
Other than that, the machine comes equipped with seven cutting heights between 25 and 85 millimetres, so you'll be able to tackle any grass and will have no problems making that grass as tall/short as necessary.
The model's single cutting height adjustment lever lets you easily switch between these seven settings, meaning that you'll be able to make quick and easy decisions on the go.
Rugged Build
As far as the model's construction is concerned, there's not much to complain about here. Hyundai machines seldom disappoint on that front, and we're not dealing with an exception here.
In addition to the regular high-quality components, the P5100SPE model incorporates a treated steel chassis that works wonders protecting the machine against rust and corrosion, giving you, in turn, many years of service.
Apart from that, it is the little things that sell the product. The ergonomic soft-grip handle will make sure your hands won't start feeling uncomfortable after some time with the machine. The large quick-release 60-litre polyester grass catcher does an excellent job compacting the grass cuttings, letting the machine waste less time emptying and spend more time mowing.
In other words, Hyundai P5100SPE will present no challenges where they aren't needed. The machine is rugged, robust, and plenty durable. The tool-free assembly will let you immediately put the mower to good use.

Mountfield 394 P-B
No Priming, No Choking, No Pulling
Mountfield 394 P-B is probably the most well-balanced product on the list as far as the price-performance ratio is concerned. Of course, the model won't prove as effective towards large lawns as the previous entries on this list but, again, considering the price tag, the machine's specs and overall value are much higher than you'd expect.
First things first, the company's InStart facility brings together the mower's petrol-powered cutting performance and reliable battery starting approach, meaning you won't have to do any priming, choking, or pulling. In other words, you won't have any troubles starting the mower.
Its 390-millimetre cutting width doesn't make the model especially suitable for large lawns but, as far as medium-sized lawns are concerned, there's absolutely nothing here to complain about. You'll be able to handle your average lawn in no time at all.
The machine's plenty flexible and versatile too. There are five cutting height settings that let you choose five different positions ranging from 25 to 70 millimetres. Needless to say, you'll have complete control over the finish and be able to make the lawn look exactly like you want it to look. At the same time, the model's centralised cutting height, with this single lever on the wheel, will let you quickly and effortlessly switch between these cutting heights.
Immune to Rust
The 40-litre grass collector is neither too large nor too spacious. You won't have to change the collector too often. Plus, you won't always have to do that. You can always switch to rear discharge and make the overall cutting process even more effortless.
Naturally, there are also many smaller details that contribute to the machine's overall value. The Super Lo-Tone muffler does an excellent job reducing noise and delivering excellent tonal quality. The easy-access fuel neck and fuel cap make re-filling about as quick and hassle-free as the process can be.
The adjustable, foldable handle is comfortable and convenient enough. You can change its height to make sure you don't have to bend or hold your hands too high for your comfort.
All things considered, Mountfield 394 P-B brings excellent value for its cost. The machine's equally easy to use and maintain. The engine is pretty frugal but, at the same time, powerful enough to make sure the job gets done. The polypropylene chassis is immune to rust, making the machine pretty durable too.

Einhell GC-PM 46 S
Flexibility Is Where It's At
It should go without saying that people have different lawns that vary not just in size but also in terms of terrain, the sort of grass that grows on it, and all of the additional details that may or may not matter when it comes to purchasing the right lawn mower. Of course, certain models are versatile and flexible enough in order to negate the majority of these differences and provide just about any customer with a product that suits his needs. As you might imagine, there aren't a whole lot of lawn mowers out there that could fit this description, and there are even less of those that'd be able to do it as well as Einhell GC-PM 46 S Self Propelled Petrol Lawnmower does.
As we have already mentioned, every individual has different kind of grass that grows in his backyard, and that means that a truly flexible lawnmower has to be able to adjust to a large variety of different heights. Fortunately enough, that is where the model in question shines most, offering nine different levels of central cutting height adjustment that will allow you to quickly adjust the length of the lawn from 30mm to 80mm with nothing but a single lever. Speaking of the handle, it isn't just height adjustable and ergonomic but also foldable, meaning it can easily be stored in order to save some space.
Style Is Never Out of Style
Setting the elements that make this self-propelled petrol lawn mower so flexible aside for a moment, we would like to direct your attention toward something that is slightly more obvious and still underappreciated in the eyes of certain customers. Naturally, we're talking about the looks. Though arguably not the most important aspect there is, the powder-coated sheet steel housing of this model isn't there just to make it robust and reliable but also to add just a touch of chic and style in order to brighten up what is otherwise a fairly boring activity.
In terms of performance, the lawn mower at hand is not the one to trail behind either, incorporating a one-cylinder four-stroke engine that generates a high torque, all while a disengageable rear-wheel drive ensures continuous work. And as far as the process of cleaning is concerned, the manufacturers made sure to provide the model with a fairly spacious 50-litre textile grass bag that comes with a level indicator so that you could determine at a single glance when is the right time to empty the bag. Finally, the last thing we would like to mention is, ironically enough, the starter cable that is located on the handle in order to make sure that reaching it won't present any challenges whatsoever. All in all, the Einhell GC-PM 46 S Self Propelled Petrol Lawnmower is an attractive model that has quite a lot going for it, but the biggest advantage is, without a doubt, the sort of flexibility it offers that will allow virtually any customer out there to enjoy all of the benefits of this versatile product.

Murray EQ200
Looks Matter Too
Murray EQ200 is that budget petrol lawn mower that you never knew you needed. Its 125cc Briggs & Stratton engine is as reliable as they come. The engine will work for years with very few maintenance demands. At the same time, it is pretty frugal and its emissions are surprisingly low.
We seldom care about mowers' aesthetics but couldn't gloss over the model's sleek and streamlined look. Now, it is nothing too fancy (fortunately) but the machine's black and silver colour scheme definitely adds character to the otherwise regular appearance, making the mower stand out from its budget peers.
As for the model's specs, there's not much here we haven't seen before. The 410-millimetre cutting width will let you handle any medium-sized lawn with ease but might prove relatively insufficient for large lawns.
At the same time, we can definitely get behind the model's available cutting heights. Somewhat dissimilar to every other mower on the list, Murray EQ200 will let you choose the cutting height between 28 and 92 millimetres. There aren't too many people that prefer the lawn 90-mm tall but having that option available to you is always nice.
Select the Height
On the construction front, the biggest contributor is the machine's 16-inch (41-centimetre) durable steel mower deck. This thing will let you tackle any terrain. Plus, the steel's chrome finish makes the deck resistant to rust and corrosion.
The sizable 60-litre bag makes the model suitable for any small/medium-sized lawn. You don't always have to rely on the bag though. You can always choose to discharge the clippings from the back other than collect them into the grass catcher.
The handlebar here is especially nice. There are three height settings that you can select from to change the handle's height. At the same time, the handlebar conveniently folds for storage, reducing the precious storage space that the machine requires.
We don't really have any major issues with this machine except for the starting mechanism. It's nothing too complex but will likely take you some time to get used to starting the engine.
On the bright side, the model's battery life is ridiculous. You'll be able to mow any medium-sized lawn (~60 square metres) up to five times before having to recharge the battery.
To sum it all up, Murray EQ200 is an easy choice to make. Its solid cutting width means less running up and down. Its modest weight means less pressure on your knees and back. Plus, you'll have complete control over the finish. You'll be able to make your lawn look however you want.

What Is a Petrol Lawn Mower?
All house owners want to have a good-looking lawn in their yard. A lawn mower is ready to help. Yet, all household lawn needs are different and so are lawnmowers. If you have a small grassy sweep in front of your house, most likely than not, you’ll be able to trim it using a mere reel mower. Yet, if you have a half an acre area with a dense grass carpet, you need a powered machine. Your choice will fall between electric and petrol-powered machines.
Some models are designed to trim grass, while others are also able to fertilize the soil. Offering a mulching option, they will shred grass into a fine mulch and evenly distribute it over the lawn as you move. This way, you will bring the precious nutrients back to the ground. Petrol lawn mowers with internal combustion engines refer to such models. They are notable for self-sufficiency and wide working range: they don't need a connection to the power supply, and their power is enough to process big areas. Thus, they have gained wide popularity and become irreplaceable assistants in gardening.
What Features to Compare
Performance
The performance of petrol lawn mowers depends on engine power. The more powerful the engine is, the faster the blades rotate, drawing the mown grass. You should make your choice based on the area of your yard. For example, a model with the engine up to 2kW is enough for a lawn of up to 1/7 acre. If you have a yard of 1/4-1/3 acre, you will need a lawnmower with the power up to 2.5kW. Lastly, if you possess a lawn of 1/3-1/2 acre, you should pay attention to the models of 3kW and more.
Efficiency
The efficiency of mowing is influenced by several parameters such as a number of blades, width, and cutting height. A petrol lawn mower usually features two blades, but there are models with one dual blade. Such a design is needed for fine grinding that is also called mulching. If we consider the cutting width, most lawn mowers have cutting decks from 13” to 17”, while professional models feature the cutting path from 17” to 21.5”. The wider the blade is, the more grass it can grab per a single sweep. Concerning the cutting height, it can also be adjusted from 1.2” to 4”. Every lawn mower features several cutting modes: mulching, bagging, and discharge. Bagging and discharge are clear, yet mulching should be more to tell about. Mulching means the grinding of grass until a formation of mulch to be dropped on the ground. In such a way, mulch forms a special layer that protects the lawn from vermin, weeds, retaining the damp. The mulch decomposes and, thereby, serves as organic fertilizer for the ground.
Usability
There is no doubt that a lawnmower should be powerful and efficient, however, it should be usable as well. The drive wheels are the main peculiarity in this regard. When a lawnmower propels itself and you just guide it in a needed direction, it is easy and nice to use, in particular, if the ground is hilly. On the other hand, if you have a lot of trees or sharp turns in your yard, it is better to use a non-self-propelled model. The usability may also include the availability of a bag or a catcher for grass collection since some models come without this equipment and you need to pick grass by yourself. The size also plays quite an important role. Some lawn mowers are equipped with folding handles providing convenience in storage. And, of course, you should pay attention to the engine. The engines of all petrol lawn mowers are the same in maintenance; they should be washed, and oil should be replaced every 50 hours. But, the advantage is apparent – the mower does not depend on a power supply and the working range is unlimited. Sums it up!
