- The design is well thought out, as connectivity and internet speeds are more than I could ask for!
- When I ran a speed comparison on the 5G network I was getting around 72 Mbps with a direct connection and 64 Mbps when I selected the 5G_EXT link.
- Advertised speeds are not very realistic, but performance and signal strength are drastically improved from my previous 802.11b/g/n network.
- Solid performance that turned a 5 Mbps download speed into 30 Mbps. Easy to follow instructions even for a computer dummy (me).
- I have my PS4 connected directly to it via a LAN cable and the download and upload speeds are great.
- I did a broadband speed test and with wi-fi I was getting 24.5mbs, I plugged in an ethernet cable from the unit to my PC and now no dropout and 72mbs. Give it a go and see if it works for you.
- It is excellent and I found this to provide MUCH more reliable wi-fi connections ,and hence download speeds ,than my old SKY router or my existing PLUSNET router.
- I did a few speed tests in the house and the results speak for themselves. Not only the speed went from 2-14 Mbps in the kitchen before and now is around 70 Mpbs but has also improved the speed everywhere else in the flat.
- No problem with outage and no noticeable slowing of speed.
- They now have a wifi signal in all areas of the house, it's not the strongest but that is due to their rubbish internet speeds and not this booster.
- It is larger and more robust than the small brick units.
- The unit is very sleek and fits pretty invisibly into my entertainment cabinet.
- The device is small and out of the way and improves WiFi reach at my house. All seems to work as expected!
- The wi-fi extender is not very effective when much smaller extenders are doing a better job at "extending" the 2.4Ghz signal.
- It would be nice if it was a little smaller, but I would 100% recommend this device to anybody who needs a Wi-Fi range extender.
- What a boost had the previous smaller plug-in netgear WiFi extenders but the size and additional aerials of the nighthawk increased the wifi throughput by a factor of 10.
- Used to replace older version of similar unit and although half the size seem to be more effective
- Size is great, it does not interfere when using the other socket?
- In use, this extender has been rock-solid. It gets better 5g reception than other extenders I've tried without being a full-sized device.
- It was easy to set up, (on tablets and smartphones you just have to pick it up as a new network connection and put in the password again) and very small so barely noticeable.
- You can download the app and it will measure and help you find the best place. A nice addition!
- The device has an app for smartphones to help find the best place, but it was not that difficult, you can see where your WiFi ends.
- Use the Netgear WiFi app on playstore to locate the best place to put the extender in your home.
- Works well. Quick, easy set-up via Netgear Genius GUI app.
- Netgear has an app to help determine the best place to install these and it's very helpful.
- An USB port than can be used for either network storage or as a very good print server.
- The single RJ45 port is an absolute boon and easily handled my VOIP phone.
- Good booster for extening the wifi range. Has an ethernet port to plug a device in. Shes a goodun
- Very straightforward to set up. Has a built in output ethernet port. Werks well
- The Ethernet port on this model is not a Gigabit port, it's a 10/100 port only. Sadly I found out only spending hours of testing and hair dropping.
