- I am so happy with these, I got them for editing a cinematic feature documentary and I am so happy with them, the sound is incredible, and range is great.
- Focal Shape 65 speakers are my most trustworthy monitors for playback and monitoring during any project I'm working on.
- Right off the bat, the bass was tighter, cleaner and way easier to set in the mix. I work/compose in a very competitive environment and without a doubt my new Focals will help my mixes translate better.
- With the older monitors I had to mix it to the best of my ability then listen to it on different playback devices and in different environments to see how things sounded: A very tiring process.
- Just got these a few weeks ago, and I am loving them. I can hear every little detail in my recordings.
- When I finally thought about doing it a few years ago, I searched for reviews and comparisons and found these commonly compared to the Mackies, frequently favorably.
- There's something I can't really quantify about the new speakers too. Imaging is incredible.
- Just amazed at these monitors they are fantastic!
- Awesome monitors! Not sure what could be better than these.
- These are a pretty penny, lots of pretty pennies, but worth every bit. I'm convinced these speakers were crafted by God himself, just like Adam was back in the day.
- Flexibility in placement since I'm limited to a bedroom
- The radiator design mean that you need to place them carefully and experiment. away from the wall or close to the wall.
- This studio monitor good for small studio for near field monitoring , gives you good quality when mix down
- These speakers are like a big candy bar made of sound sitting on your desk...
- It's not very good looking and heavy speaker but sound is amazing.
- Speaker is quite bulky and heavy so you can easily hurt your back when carrying it.
- Sure, the Adams had more sub information (dedicated low end speaker). With that said, even tho no subs, the low end down to the 40hz on the Focals was clearer and more defined. Every other frequency across the spectrum destroyed the Adams.
- The clarity of these monitors was just what I needed. I'm so amazed.
- To me is is suitable for all genres, but some will still want more bass. If you're one of those people that likes a looser bottom end, I would recommend ported monitors vs. passive radiator like these.
- Once tuned properly to the room, those are much above prosumer than the competition at comparable prices. Crisp and precise all over the spectrum, no need to crank the volume knob. Sore for the hear after hours of mixing.
- The sweet spot is huge and the stereo imaging is precise, the midrange is incredibly detailed, the low end is solid and tight - not woofy or overly subby - and overall they're just a delight to mix with.
- The sound is cleaner. Simply cleaner. So very clean. You will read reviews where people say they heard things in music they've never heard before. It's true.
- With the finely-chiseled ribbon tweeter and carbon-infused cone, you can hear everything, and the 7-inch cone provides just the right amount of frequency coverage to feel what you need to feel.
- Sounds incredible! Get it with the mounts I reviewed on here and you're a happy camper disturbing the neighbors.
- High end is the best I have ever heard! Lows and mids are phenomenal also-- especially from only a 7-inch speaker.
- They sound amazing, but your wallet better be ready for this purchase.
- The auto-off feature that you may have heard some griping about, has been a non-issue
- Thanks to the non-ported design and the wide stereo image, you have a lot of flexibility in placement (there is still a sweet spot though!).
- What a clear sound. Dont think twice just buy it ! Your mixes will be better than ever.
- The downside of the speakers is the aforementioned standby mode, which if it works for you it does not let you work on low volume for a long, they turn them self off after 20+minutes or so
- Of course, you can always add a sub and basically change your underwear every time you listen to music on them.
- They are as good as the reviews said, I cant find anything I don't like about them.
- Paired with a good DAC, the sound is unreal at times (though you get used to even sound this good).
- The built in amps that drive them are also very good. Clean and dynamic.
- The tweeter style is quite nice - there's a pleasant texture to the high end.
- One nice difference between the two speakers is there is no automatic shut off on the A7X if you play at low volume.
