What customers say about "Key Specs"
MinoSharp 220 Knife Sharpener
- It is very effective and sharpened my knives quickly and easily, recommended!
- Simple and effective. Knives super-sharp again in less than a minute.
- FANTASTIC result, my favourite knife is where it belongs, in my knife rack and not the rubbish bin.
- Good solution for those of us who never managed to get along with sharpening steels and for whom the use of a whetstone seems like some arcane art.
- Great for Japanese knives eg Global - I bought another sharpener and damaged three of my global knives before I realised there was a consistent issue.
MinoSharp Plus 3 Ceramic Water Sharpener 550 - Black/Red
- This is an easy to use product ideal for anyone who is unfamiliar with or looking for an alternitive to stones.
- Very clean to use no mess-you could have this sat on your worktop while cooking and sharpen as you go.
- The finish on the edge is not as polished as you get with a proper fine whetstone but you get a usable edge quickly and cleanly.
- A well maintained knife will only need couple of strokes on the medium & fine wheels. This tool keeps my Global set at optimum.
- My Minosharp does the job for me badly, slow and difficult.

What customers say about "Sharpening"
MinoSharp 220 Knife Sharpener
- The shape of the ceramic stones & the slots in the plastic cover ensure that you maintain that 10-15 degree angle that is so important not to damage your knives.
- My knife was that bad it did take around 40 passes on the white coarse wheel to get it back into shape then a few passes on the pink wheel and it is razor sharp again.
- If your blade is particularly dull then use the white coarse wheel first, then finish with the fine pink wheel with another 7 or 8 strokes. Always finish with the pink wheel to ensure a fine edge.
- Wow - I was amazed at how sharp this gets my Global knife without applying any pressure. Just 8 light strokes through each wheel and its back to brand new.
- Great sharpener - the two grades of wheel is excellent. Expensive - but well worth it if you have a good knife.
MinoSharp Plus 3 Ceramic Water Sharpener 550 - Black/Red
- Knives come out sharp but not quite the razor edge you get with a stone but the edge looks like it will last.
- 10 strokes on each wheel in one direction not back and forth, and they are razor again.
- For those of you who can't keep a knife at an 8 degree angle this sharpener was made for you and it gives the best results I have obtained using various sharpeners over the years.
- Upon trying my knife in the sharpener I followed all relevant instructions, but the knife kept riding up and grinding along the top edge of the rollers. This threw off the angle and caused issues.
- They're not perfect though; due to the angle of the wheels, you can never sharpen down both edges right to the tip of the blade.

What customers say about "Features"
MinoSharp 220 Knife Sharpener
- Compact and easy to use, this will keep your knives good and sharp.
- Rubber on the handle and on the under side at the 'heel' and toe help it to stay put when in use.
- It is not very big and easily fits in my kitchen pretty standard kitchen draws.
- The water bath is a key differentiator. I've bought another one for my in-laws too.
- In less than a month one of the plastic spools on which the ceramic wheels sits snapped off.
MinoSharp Plus 3 Ceramic Water Sharpener 550 - Black/Red
- For very poor blades the coarse wheel will provide a improved edge, the medium and fine are to finish the job off to provide razor sharp edge.
- This is a better version of the two wheel one which I have owned for several years. Very sturdy and works well but a bit pricey.
- The construction seems of a higher quality, large ceramic wheels, good handle - so pleased with the purchase so far.
- Ceramic wheels are replaceable, and the unit is nicely made so should last a long time.
- Annoying that even if your knives where reasonably sharp before, you may need to use each wheel in turn to create a new edge profile so that the Minosharp will sharpen correctly.
