It records at one resolution setting of your choice while the HD60 can steam at one resolution while recording at another.
If you need to capture smooth, high-resolution video from an HDMI source, this little box does the trick.
The software seems very full featured and has lots of options to change resolution and recording quality.
The picture comes out really crisp as long as you have it set to 1080p of course. Though you can set it to 720p if your computer can't handle the higher resolution.
After a month of use, It began to see an HDMI cable with changeable success.

Card work as expected and rated. I don't use much of its software for streaming so can't really say anything but capturing screen for two pc setup works fine.
The device is easy to set up and is very robust and does not feel cheap.
I've had problems with external capture devices in the past. This device gives me NO issues at all. It does exactly what it should, and the installation procedure is the easiest I've seen.
I use this to capture my Original Xbox One and my Nintendo Switch, which is does perfectly with minimal latency, less than 5 frames by my estimates.
All the information I needed was on the Elgato website and installation was fairly easy.

It's small, probably as big as the game capture HD.
It is small, simple and works. Great capture quality and almost no lag too.
This thing is so small for what it achieves that it’s truly jarring all things considered. I see now why this product is still widely viewed as the absolute standard for quality in its field.
It is compact and lightweight. You can easily take it with you and go to friends.
My only real complaint is the unit itself is very light. The natural curl of the htmi cables are strong enough to move it around.

Delivery was efficient and perfect quality product. Product is small as well which is great.
The design is sleek and small, perfect to take along with you to gaming events or to your friends house to record some co-op gameplay.
I've been using this for around two weeks now and haven't face any problems with the recording or the device. It has a Solid bulid in such a small form factor.
I must admit I was surprised at how small it really was, I had done plenty of research before receiving the product but wow!
Its works perfectly with xbox and computer and it small and fit so u can go friends house and play with them its good quilty works well with other programs good small setup.

The main difference between the HD60 and HD60 S is that the S has the lowest delay between the game on your TV and the preview on your computer.
The picture and audio quality is superb, it’s very compatible with other streaming software, and there’s absolutely no input lag whatsoever in the pass through.
Higher Bitrate than most other Capture Cards on the market.
Tonight the PC failed to even recognize it despite the units lights coming on, switching USB cables and ports, restarts etc. I'm done with ElGato, clearly its crap hardware.
Another thing that sucks is this device doesn’t work with PS3 unless you do some workarounds.

Sufficiently low delay to be able to play games through the capture stream rather than needing a second display. We have used it for clear capture from ps4, wiiu, switch, mini nes with no problems.
I use this to capture my Original Xbox One and my Nintendo Switch, which is does perfectly with minimal latency, less than 5 frames by my estimates.
The free software that comes with the Elgato HD60 Pro is perfect and makes streaming simple as all sound is directly transferred over!
Recording is instant, when pressing the record button, it records instantly without delay (unlike the Avermedia HD2).
Very difficult to install and get working without getting the message (no device found error).
